Get the Open Paves instead; little bit more puncture protection than the Open Corsas.

I use the Open Paves and they are brilliant. Out on them today and they just roll so easily.

I got them from the deal uniQ (I think) posted up a little while a go so not full price wasted.

Very disappointed in them... in fact I was propper raging cursing the crap out of them at the side of the road literally the other morning.

lol you're making me feel bad! Surprised though, still have some 4 seasons on my Trek going strong after 5k+ miles & 2 years. One flat. The ones I got from that deal are still new in box ready to go on as replacements.

Yeah maybe I've just had super bad luck but I have to ride through stokes croft everyday and can actually see the millions of tiny bits of glass everywhere when the sun is shining.

I think they are probably good tyres with a lot of grip jut not suited to my commute, I need something with harder rubber which isn't going to let debris get embeded so easy. Ridden the route loads with GP4000's and they hold up really well.

See, I'm the other way round; I think GP4000s' are made of cheese. I threw mine away after less than 1000 miles.

Heh. No real consensus of opinion! At this rate I'll just go for the Continental Ultra Sports because they're cheap and I can get them in yellow :D

370g/tyre is is not bad?! And weight is overrated anyway ;)
It's pretty bad :-D I know I would say this as I'm a bit of a weight weenie but saving weight on the outside of your wheels is absolutely the best place.

I have a set of 2kg rims with heavy tyres which I have switched over to one of my bikes a few times, usually replacing a light wheelset and I can instantly tell the difference, its not exactly that their quicker but I think it must be the gyroscopic effect of the weight on the rims is magnified and makes the bike handle like an absolute pig.

Bang my lighter wheels back on and the zing is back, its like a whole new bike, steering lighter, more precise, feel like I can just bank it right into corners easy etc.

175g a tyre heavier then the Schwalbe Ultremo ZX i have on mine for example. Then again they are cheap tyres and you mostly ride on the flat so it's not a big issue for you.

Just a update on gator skins.

They are hard as nails, been commuting in the dire weather we been having and they holding up very well..

But, they are awful in the corners, I've crashed once but being honest that was diesel issue not tyres..
But back on topic they really don't inspire confidence in corners, you feel them losing grip if you take any racing lines/aggressive lines

So am going back to gp4000s as they grip like.. S Lol and their very fast.

Saying that I did have bad experience with them and a piece of glass :-(

I'll keep those in mind too and probably wait for a deal. Do you feel you are riding on a cloud and your Contis are like riding on hose pipes in comparison?:D
That is what I often read!

They just fly over all surfaces.

The first 5 miles of my commute are chip and seal and I find is a slow surface on my other tyres but the Paves just don't notice the difference. I run them at 90psi on 23mm wide rims too so they are super comfy as well.
