All those patches on the tyre will end up increasing rolling resistance.

I reckon it'd be easier using tubes, patching tubes.

Hmm. All sounds a bit too...I dunno. I feel like, I assume, people first felt when electricity was discovered.

This is experimental on my part. If it turns out to be a crummy then I'll just put clinchers back on. If you have a look on No Tubes then you can see them stabbing tyres with bradels and the tyres resealing so it will be interesting to find out what ti takes to flat one of these puppies.

The 17 miles I did today though felt excellent.

Although my BR write up was quite negative, it was all due to personal issues not the ride itself. I definitely recommend it and will probably do it again next year.

I do like the sounds of that actually - have you got a link to you BR writeup (i know - I'm being very lazy)

Used to love night riding off road and want a longer ride to work up to so may well do it next year as well :)

Can anyone suggest reason for foot pain on the outside of my foot ? It comes on after a few miles and only my right foot. this is my pedal / shoe combi here and here

I tend not to use my road bike very much but i've just started commuting on it as it's quicker than the car but after i arrive at work my foot is real painful, it goes after an hour or so.

Shoes seem to fit alright and this is not a medical question i'm sure it's something to do with the setup somewhere or equiptment, just hoping someone may have experienced similar issues.

Only things I can think of is the shoes not fitting correctly (could be too tight across the outside of the foot, too narrow/wide for your foot), or the float not being correctly adjusted on your pedals leading you to pedal with improper technique and placement, thereby putting pressure on parts of your feet that aren't used to it.

agreed, will probably be the shoes being a little too small on your right foot or the cleat placement / float. Although it could be that you need a wedge between the cleat and shoe to get the angle right... you could shell out ~ £100 to get the bike properly set-up for you - that should fix it.

Anyone recommend some good but reasonable priced bib shorts?

My Spesh' ones are starting to fall apart, so looking at Giordana Tenax Laser (one CRC get them back in stock) for £72. I thinking euro sizing means I'll need an XXL (34"ish waist).

You can get some Castelli bib shorts from Ribble for ~£70, and if you use the TAKE10 code at checkout, get a further 10% off. If memory serves, orders over £50 are free delivery too. They have Tenax Carbons for £77 as well.

I use Castelli and they are excellent.

Got an issue with my new wheels:
