We did 36 miles this morning, but it was pretty quick. Not like loads of PRs quick but overall fast considering we took in some hills and minimal stops. We had a guy from Manchester Wheelers with us so we were doing our best to keep pace with him. He had a full carbon bike - Museeuw (?) frame and full Ultrgra. Incredibly light - felt like I could have thrown it over my house. He's not too keen on Shimano, though, so he's going to move to Campagnolo Super Record and lose another 3/4 of a key off it. Unbelievable.

So we pushed hard and got to our usual cafe stop before it was even open! Had to wait for our coffee and tea cakes.

There's nothing you can use to stop flies and other bug's going into your ear? like there's no such thing as some kind of earplug that doesn't block sound but has like a mesh to stop crap getting inside?

almost everyride I get at least one fly almost enter my ear! and it's disgusting!

surely there must be something?

scares the crap out of me lol although I guess that isn't likely to happen in this country

Something like this.

I'm tempted by one as I hate the wind noise when cycling fast.

In fact, this has inspired me to go and ride the Bealach Na Ba again. It's only 60 miles from my house and it's been a couple of years since i last did it. I think i'll pop over this weekend and see if i can bag another KOM :p

Done :D
Annoyingly, i only equalled the KOM rather than beat it, but i'm happy enough :)

Just got back from Orbital. Good day out. Got some bargains, watched some races and got the N+1 bug looking at all the bike porn. ISAAC's, Colnago's, Williers were probably best on show. :)

The sky shirt with the yellow stripe is gorgeous.

But I just can't bring myself to wear something with SKY blazoned across it.

tried my SKY top on with my bib shorts , and the top only goes down to the top of the shorts where the straps start

me thinks its too small,

I've never worn any Rapha stuff, but isn't a lot of high end pro stuff usually cut quite short at the front, provided you have got the size chart right. I have a high end Santini jersey that is a lot like that.

What is Rapha even cut like anyway?
Is it like Italian sizing with a small being like an XL, or is it more British?

I'm a medium in Rapha gear, and a Large or sometimes XL in Castelli.

I occasionally wear my Rapha Sky bib shorts that I got for a silly price on club runs. But I just don't give a ****. :D
