Ah yeah, I remember Peter Sagan. :D I actually tagged on the back of your group up to the first feed station - I was in HTC kit on my Scott, not the guy that tagged on behind but skipped the stop. School boy error not stopping in this weather imo, I was struggling for fluid by the second stop even with full bottles! I was planning on taking my turn on the front but Sagan was a beast! :D

Arrr I think I remember. And someone in HTC kit came into the room in the leisure center at the end. Quite slim? Me and Sagan were sat on the plastic chairs...? Yeah he was a beast... But I dragged him along for the last 30 miles :p

Haha yeah, the coffee was pretty poor! Ahhh well. Now I'm home, Im pretty pleased with how it went.

Yeah that was me. I was just slim until two weeks of wine and cheese in France. :p Probably no surprise that I prefer the hills, not much of an engine for the flat.

My SKS Chromoplastics were delivered to work the other day, decided the best way of taking them home was to loosely fit them at work. I got home to find 3 of the bolts holding the back one on had come loose! Whoops. Luckily a LBS had 3 bolts spare.

Completed the 'Take on the Tour' Strava challenge this morning with a horrible 43 mile MTB ride, absolutely killed me.

Just need to do another 66 miles in the next few days to hit 1000 for July.

Yeah, I did it. What kit were you wearing/bike were you on?

Got lost in the same place you did but ended up going all the way down to Nantwich before realising which was an absolute PITA. The signage for that one turn off was ****. Saw pretty much everyone miss it and be waved back in the right direction by other riders down the road. Made 102 miles into 108 with an extra 20 getting to and from the start. I'm knackered now.

Not to grumble but the course itself was pretty dull and it felt like not a lot of effort had really gone into the event itself. Maybe I'm just grumpy after being out in the sun all day. :p

We looked into doing that one. Sounds like we didn't miss much.

Only thing I'd say is it'd be an excellent first 100 mile ride due to the profile.

I actually said exactly that to a mate the other week. He'd done the 76 mile Cheshire Cat and was knackered, and he saw I'd done the 100 mile Liverpool-Chester-Liverpool the same day, and he was saying there was no way he could do 100 miles. I mentioned that sportive as being very gentle on the climbing front. He told me to get stuffed :D

The reflector doesnt have a BS kitemark!?

Mudguard is either on the wrong way around, or part of it is missing.
Could be intentional though, having it behind the fork stops spray on your lower body, having it in front of the fork stops spray in your face.

They've fitted a rear mudguard to the front.

I was browsing ebay the other day for an S1 for a mate (I didn't realised I'd actually outbid him on mine) and I found one in full triathlon set-up. It was ugly as sin but it was also set up with 2mm pad clearance with the calliper quick release levers open.

I'm guessing cycling wasn't a major part of this triathlete's training regime because he'd obviously never had a puncture.

My drunken eye thought there was a bottle cage under the down-tube, but it's the toe clip on the other pedal :D

Could be using training wheels that have wider rims than his race wheels?
I used to do that when i had my chinese carbon rims, which were very narrow. I would use them with the qr closed on the race wheels and open for the training wheels. I still had to swap pads for carbon/alloy rims but at least i didnt have to change the cable tension every time.

Haha, i thought that as well...and I'm not even drunk :(

It a pair of hideous blue tri-spoke wheels on it. No-one who knew what they were doing would have those.

Haha, fair enough. There are people that just shouldnt be allowed to do their own bike maintenance.
