That's because you should size your bibs on height as much as anything. I take a medium or large in bibs but a small in jerseys. Small bibs would look like hotpants!

^ Depends on the make too. Some are sized by height others by chest/waist.

Bibs:
2XU: S
Castelli/Rapha: M
ShuttVR: L

Jerseys:
2XU/ShuttVR/Rapha: S
Castelli: M

Went and watched a MTB race today as the tracks just opened near me.

Rode over as I've not really used my MTB much, did a couple of laps before the race. Had my front wash out on the first lap and fell off. Punctured on the second... Maybe I'm not meant to ride MTB anymore!

White Down Lane turned out to be not so bad. I think I had mentally prepared myself for something far worse based on all the descriptions online. It was just a typical short, steep hill that you blast out of the saddle.

What I found pretty annoying today were the several stretches of road being re-surfaced for the London Ride 100. Currently, they are covered in gravel which I think is pretty dangerous, especially on Ranmore Rd where the hitting a gravel mound when descending is going to send to you skidding off the road. Some maniacs bombed their way down but I wasn't going to risk it.

Can someone give me a quick 101 run down on Chinese frames? Thinking of building one up for racing on. Is there a site that shows all the frames available?

Anyone ever heard of Bellweather clothing? Seems to be more of a US brand but SportsPursuit have some of their Newton bib shorts and reckon they are £119 down to £63.

Hmm it does not say in the ebay description that it comes with any sort of spacer and i don't know what cassette is on my current wheels as it does not say on the specs and i can't have a look right now as they are in a shop but the derrailleur is Ultegra if that makes a difference.

So let me get this straight, there should be a 11 speed spacer with the wheels and there might be one on my cassette. If there isn't one with my cassette does that mean i don't need a 10 speed one for that cassette?

8/9 speed freehub bodies are the same width.

10 speed shimano cassettes are narrower than both 8/9 so use a small spacer to fill in the gap but still using the same freehub body.

New 11 speed has went wider again which means if you want to fit anything other than 11 speed you use the spacer that comes with it to take it to the size of the 8/9 speed.

Essentially I'd remove what is on your wheels now and fit it on the new wheel with the 11 speed spacer. Unless you have mavic wheels then you would leave the mavic spacer on the mavic wheels.

Fm066sl all the way

I am also thinking of doing this I need an alternative to my Wilier and the FM066 SL looks like my favourite too. Loads of info on http://www.velobuild.com/ and there are a couple of big stickies on http://forums.roadbikereview.com/bikes-frames-forks/

Preferred/trusted vendors seem to be Hongfu, Dengfu and Honor Bike. The FM066 SL looks a pretty light frame and as I can't really affford a Cervelo R3/R5 it might be my best bet.

Do I have to?

Honestly the thought of crashing a 7.5K bike in a race doesn't appeal compared to writing off a DengFu.

Of course you dont have to, you can do whatever you want...
But why buy another inferior bike when you have a perfectly capable bike already?
Just get it insured, would cost much less than buying another bike and would let you race the good bike.

Thanks for the informative help m8, a lot more helpful then some.

found a bike shop with a specized Tricross in stock, in a 56 so I had a test drive and it actually felt pretty good
didn't feel much different in terms of Geometry
just need to try a 58 frame now, then I know what I want to get
just a shame the Crux doesn't have mud guard mounts, everyone seems to rave about them though

It's actually cheaper to buy a DengFu than take out extra crash damage on the R5.

That' s just one of the reasons though.. Another is it's about that N+1 time of year :p. Quite fancy a TMR01 .

Have you tried britishcycling? I just tried a quote for a 7.5k bike and it works out at around £50/month (that may be with a 10-15% member discount though)
