I read up about the boosters, apparently the are "really" hard work? i.e. its whats the PROs use
are they really THAT hard? (from a complete novice point of view I mean)

Nah its not any worse thn a normal turbo, were it differs is that its a dual magnet design for super smoothness and it can take up to 1400w ( that's why the pros use it ).

on setting 1 of 9 its like any other turbo and you use your gears accordingly, id say every further click is like adding a 2-3% gradient.

in terms of normal turbo trainers its pretty much the best apart from "different" designs like the kurt kinetic.

Was out at some local trails today with the bike, took some pics of the new aero bars and rack fitted:-

Are those Lidl aerobars?
Did your bike carrier fit in the slots of them correctly?

I have some Thule bike carriers but the Tbolts are too wide to fit in the slots on my Lidl bars. I'm wondering if there are other bolts available or something before i break out the angle grinder and make them fit.

thanks for the info

its just that I keep looking for a tacx Sirius or a flow at the moment on ebay, the flow is upgradeable to an I-flow, which might be better for me in the long run, I want one trainer that will last me a long time

Upgraded my Tacx Satori to a Kurt Kinetic Road Machine this week and first impressions are positive. It's also recommended for TrainerRoad if that floats your boat.

The Satori was noisy and didn't have great feel owing to the small flywheel I guess. It also didn't have the most solid mounting mechanism. It did the job definitely but the new one is more enjoyable, relatively speaking.

fair enough

I read a review on bike radar about the Sirius and I think its like what you said about the satori, but the flow, apparently is much much better

Really? If its above freezing I sweat like a 60's celebrity at the BBC in my softshell. Even with the vents open.

Need to work on my body fat.

I'll be going out in just my shorts and short sleeved jersey in a minute

See this I don't understand. I'm on earlies this week so 7-3pm, setting off from home at ~5:55. The ground was wet, lots of early morning dew, and it was cold. I was wrapped up in leggings and my new Softshell, and passed people in wife beaters and shorts..

I suppose at that time you might be right
soon as it gets a bit cold, I put layers on ! as I tend to feel the cold badly
