It's the one thing that spoils the profile of the bike. My aero bars come out at a similar angle, so the only real solution is bar ends like you say.

Or you could go for v-brake levers in the centre of the bars.
Quite common on bullhorns but i much prefer the look of bar-end levers personally :)

Ha! That's pretty cool. I'd agree that it's worth more than £30. If it rides nicely then ride it. Don't worry about the value - it's probably the least likely bike on campus to get stolen.

yeah well i just took some pics and put it on gumtree, anyone know of anywhere else to list it?

its definately not for me riding wise, i need to go up to many hills on my way to work ;D

Good to hear that your getting better.

I expect you know what your doing and you dont need me to tell you, but try not to rush your rehabilitaion. Better to take it slower than do too much and injure yourself again.

Harry Rowland. He'll see you right.

He's one of the best wheel builders in the UK. He can have a short waiting list but if you give him a ring he'll chat about what you need and you can order straight away.

An alternative could be Hope RS-Mono Pro3s. Hand finished by Hope (tensioned, etc) they are Hopes MTB derived hubs on Open pros with 32 ACI spokes. 105s are good hubs but for coping with UK weather I'd go with the Hopes. Be aware that the Hope hubs buzz quite loudly though.

As for the Magicshine you've got, just make sure you keep pointing it at the ground. So many 'tards ride round Richmond Park blinding everyone in their path with those things. Having got sick of replacing my lights every year I've invested in an Exposure Flash / Flare combination. Very bright, very small and very good. So far I'm impressed.

Those hopes look like a good shout! I've ran Pro 2s on the MTB and know they are damn loud! Brilliant engagement though.

I do keep it pointed down and/or on low most of the time but fire it on high for the back roads I ride on.

Well managed 8 minutes on the exercise bike and then had to stop, but went for a swim after. Bit swollen last night so put ice on it, and its bloody sore today so I'll take it easy for the next few days. Definitely progress!

Can anyone give me any views on the Altura Night Vision Evo jacket please. I don't have a waterproof jacket yet and was looking at this one due to its visibility as I want to use it for running in over the Winter as well as cycling....

Would be getting it in black if I go for it

The pedal wrench I settled on was the Park PW-5. It's not up to the job and just chewed another one of the flats on the pedals. I took it over the bike shop and they were able to undo it immediately, no problem, with the bigger brother Park wrench. I think I'll send the PW-5 back because it's a bit mickey mouse. Fine for general duty stuff but I've got normal spanners for that.
