I'm doing a leisurely 37 mile ride today for a mate's 37th birthday round Ditchling, Haywards Heath and Balcombe.

There may be a pub stop and an icecream at the top of Ditchling Beacon.

You might bump into shamrock and going to Cali...

I was all set for going on the club ride today. But had some inoculations yesterday and arm feels a bit sore this morning :(

My god, I'm exhausted! Competed in my first ever 25 mile TT this morning, and it wasn't exactly the flattest route, horrible headwind for the first 8 miles, and then a big couple of lumps to the turning point.

This followed up with a lovely hill off this roundabout, after this though it was mostly downhill and the tailwind on the way back, managed to pace myself reasonably well keeping my HR about 160 or so for the majority of the first 18 miles, then started to ramp it up a bit, and pushed it to 175 for the last 4 or 5 miles. Finished in 1:07:18 which I was very happy with as wasn't sure on my time, and was hoping to be under 1:10. Lost about 10 seconds or so at a roundabout due to some dithering old dear, but was good, bit sore now, foam rolling after rides like that are murder!

Times are definitely improved after the bikefit and seem to be improving on the whole as I go on, so it's nice to see progress being made!

So I decided to go for a hard 8.5 miles on a route I haven't done for a few months. Every single one of the 8 or so segments was a PR, most by 2mph extra even the lumpy bits :D

And I felt fairly unfit. Throat was killing me and felt a bit light heading at one point so backed off a bit as I rolled back into town.

Ahhh, you guys should have joined us for a non-BHF L2B this morning. All the fun without the noddergeddon!

Womble, you need to come for a ride with me, Oli and Ste at some point.

Got out for a quick couple of hours before the skies darkened. Went out and got a PR on the Crow Lane climb and knocked a blistering 1 second off my Shaley Brow attempt! Haha! It felt a lot easier this time but I just didn't push to my limit to get up faster, I could have given more and perhaps knocked off another 20 seconds. Was a bit concerned as again I hadn't planned on doing Shaley again and my Edge 810 froze completely once I took the left hand turn to go up it instead of taking the right. It then froze on the recalculating screen but fortunately saved all of my ride!

Funny that. Some rides I think I'm trying hard up climbs but conserving energy for when it gets hard, but then once I get to the top I always wish I'd pushed just that little bit harder instead! Oh well, progress anyway and Shaley Brow is no longer to be feared, going to have a rest day tomorrow, especially given the impending late night tonight....

Saw a North Cheshire Clarion rider coming down Shaley and shouted "Boots!" but sadly got no reply. He probably just had no idea who I was! Haha!

Fantastic ride that. I'd love to be able to get a sub 5 hour 100, but as part of a group. Got to have some mental stamina to be able to ride that distance and time on a tt bike.

Thanks, was aiming for 100 today but was close to calling it a day after 30, felt awful, then slowly got better as it went on. You're right though it is sometimes quite difficult to concentrate for that length of time! Hopefully go sub 5 hours sometime soon, will be doing a couple more centuries this year before IMUK.
