I can't see the vid here at work either. From what you've described it's in line with what I witness every day. It's a bit rich telling cyclists that they hop lights when I see cars doing it all the time :p

ShiWarrior - Do you still have the stock tyres on your CAADX? If so, just wondering what sort of PSI you use. I can't find the max PSI listed on the tyre anywhere :/

just checked the tyres, MAX PSI is 80. min 50 PSI, that's for some 35c schwalbe tyre

Went out with my castelli body paint shorts on underneath my tights, seem very good !

I was waiting at the lights the other day when a car further up the queue just randomly drove through the lights into traffic crossing his path. I don't know whether he saw another light change at the junction or whether he just decided he'd had enough of waiting... It's crazy out there some days.

Dowsett has broken his collarbone. He's going in for surgery, but his hour record attempt at the end of Feb looks like it's been cancelled.

He was out riding with Cavendish yesterday, wonder if Cav barged him off in a sprint finish through a lake.:p

haha it is! I see it every day too :) everyone takes chances its just plain ignorant to say that only cyclists jump/run reds :) I try to never jump/run red lights because there's very little point.. I'd say I jump 1-2lights/day mostly crossings :o

blimey Grudas, one car went and they all followed through, those drivers need to "open their eyes"

sheeps eh! the guy in the red astra even went as far as backing up to over take the merc in front lol! I was just standing there with a massive "WTF?" hovering over my head ;)

That's a shame, but perhaps this means they can use that TV spot to show Sarah Storey's attempt? Maybe? We can dream...

What are other asthmatic's experiences of compression base layers? I'm starting to think that they make it more likely to have trouble breathing fully, although obviously the current weather doesn't help. If i leave it on for recovery i definitely think it makes it worse.

Indeed. On weekdays I only get to ride in the evening. Cold I can deal with, assuming it's not icy. Rain I can deal with. Wind I can deal with. Cold dark wet and windy? Hell, no. I may get out on Saturday morning, but it's looking increasingly like it'll be freezing and thus icy, so that'll keep me indoors. Rubbish.

I was quite lucky with the timing of the weather so I managed to get in just over 30 miles of outside riding. Just about to do a turbo sessionif I Can motivate myself...it's looking like a hard sell at the moment though :s

Headset guru needed....

On the verge of ordering a Rose Xeon CDX and it comes with a FSA No.44 1 1/8 to 1 1/4 headset with a 15mm cap (cone spacer).
I think the headset must be this but with an alloy cap:- http://www.fullspeedahead.com/products/cyclocross/no-44-cf-integrated-headset/

Now they can be bought with a 9mm cap it seems (although Rose only fit the 15mm) but i cant find a 9mm cap for buying separately. :(

Anyone know if i can get a 9mm cap from somewhere or suggest another cap (lower profile than 15mm!)?

This freezing wet weather & gale force winds is destroying my training
I can do one weather extreme but not 3 together.

I know the feeling

wanted to do a longer ride today, but my lungs were feeling the cold so I came home early

This is my favourite time of year to ride.

Sleet? Check
Hail? Check
Pitch dark? Check
Jaw clenching head wind? Check

Makes you glad to be alive.

If you fancy something "gentle" on Saturday then I'd be up for it, but if its proper grim then I won't! :)

Back into training properly now, out three mornings this week so far. Hard going, but gotta be done!

Final reductions in the rapha sale, I got a country jersey and a transfer gilet for less than half their RRP, $175 for a gilet is a rip off, but for $58 it's almost a bargain. I liked the high vis yellow gilet, good one for early morning or evenings I think in autumn when it comes around. Ordered medium so hoping I fit, it's still summer so I have 6 weeks or so to trim down a couple of kilos before I'll wear them!

this is quite cool! -;

as the ride proves I've been struggling getting over 15mph on my way to gym! amazing :) back home was better tho ;)

Managed to steer clear of the Rapha sale for once this year, infact I haven't spent any money on bike gear in quite a while. It's all gone on skiing gear instead :p.

Rollering 3 times a week at the moment, I think the evenings are going to be light enough soon to get back out. Also can't wait for the snow to clear from the ski resorts I've been going too....I have some routes to attempt!
