Do you prefer Tom or Thomas? Your average should've been much higher for the missing section but I'm unsure if Strava uses that to calculate as it knows the data is missing...?

Rather Tom really thanks :), ignore my username, I asked a mod to change it once on a thread, which was clearly a silly thing to do, as it came out as that!

Yeah I'm not sure how it calculates. Annoyingly the missing section was all tailwind so probably would have been well over 21mph anyway. The frustrating thing was my garmin seemed to be working the whole time I was riding, except for when I turned it on/off, but it must not have locked satelites or something.

My Power meter needs a new battery thats why I lost the power reading in the first place:mad:

Time for a new saddle as even an hour on my current one (Planet-X that came with the bike) starts to kill me.

Popped into the LBS the other day and they can do the Sella Italia ID Match (PDF). Has anyone tried this? Good end result?

My riding has been a bit of a disaster the last two weeks. First had my wisdom teeth removed which floored me for a few days, then once that started to heal i got a bad throat infection for a week, painful and still couldn't eat properly. Went to the doctors last week as i thought it was tonsillitis but apparently not, just a knock on effect of the stress from the tooth extraction - throat was covered in sores, so pretty nasty. Got some more drugs and it had eased off by friday there.

Was planning to get out for a bit this weekend, but woke on saturday morning to find i'd put the muscle in my shoulder out again same as happened around xmas. Couldn't even get myself out of bed. It's easing off again now but meant i didn't ride at all over the weekend.

Hoping to get back to the turbo again from tomorrow but expect i'll have lost some of what i'd gained previously. Just bad timing as i was just going to hit week 5 of a 6 week plan, so the hardest week, and then the whole thing ended up on hold. I'm just going to pick it up from week 5 again and see how it goes, but i suspect i might struggle a bit now. :(

Looks similar to Specialized's body geometry system, though I imagine it's more likely to recommend a Selle Italia saddle when it's done looking at your three magic numbers :p

[Damien] used to turn up for winter rides in shorts and short sleeves with fingerless gloves. I've no idea how he did it.

Rule 5? ;)

grudas, don't you overheat in the summer as you don't feel the cold in the winter? Or do you not feel the heat either?!

EDIT: Hattrick!

??

Very annoying, I've noticed it with the 810 too - it doesn't say anything about losing the signal from a sensor, just the display suddenly stops reporting whatever it was!

Things like that bug me about Strava - it wouldn't be hard to see if you had ridden that route before and then to flag it up as missing but fill in the missing data with an 'estimate' (even taking an average from all of the times you've ridden it?). If not that then at the very least take an average from others with similar speeds as you on the same route and use some of that data.

Then again we are talking about Strava here, they've not even included ANT+ support into their app as it's not seen as important enough! Stinks of a BTLE back-hander to me :(

I' guessing they're Sella Italia resellers?! :rolleyes::D:p

Depends what you're after, but Charge spoon/scoop/Madison flux all get good ratings here...

It sucks when real life kinda gets in the way, you'll be back on track in no time mate - just make sure you shake that illness. Think of it as an extended recovery week and don't push yourself too hard when you can get back on the bike. Last thing you wanna do is make yourself ill again, or worse - pickup an injury!:(

Had a blast at fitting the Superstar Gopro/Garmin mount, I was right about fitting it to the existing bracket ok but then hit a slight 'oversight'... I'll need the gopro/garmin converter thingy as the lugs on the VIRB are slightly wider than the slot on the Gopro so it won't fit...

Pic before (standard Superstar garmin upfront with VIRB on Garmin mount):

Pic after with me holding the VIRB to give an idea of where it'll be mounted:

Can post a better pic tomorrow with the VIRB actually mounted for those that want it. I put my 810 and front lights on so you can get an idea of scale/how it looks, I don't leave them on my bike! ;)

So apparently you can't just walk into a police station to report things anymore

Got told to ring 101, or go to another police station 14 miles away. I've reported it, but awaiting a call back.

Roady, really like the Garmin mount. Have you tried filming anything yet? Just wondered if the picture was pretty stable?

Wtf? That sounds rather dubious to me. Did you get the details of the person advising you that?

No, it was an intercom on the front of the police station, so I had no reason to disbelieve them. I considered making a scene and getting arrested, but that seemed a little drastic.

I've not used it but read about it at the time of buying my last saddle. I eventually got the SLR Kit Carbonio Flow. I absolutely love it. It falls into the S2 category. The fit seems very good, very comfortable.

Very strange. Were you obviously a cyclist? I'm clearly a bit suspicious of them taking you for a ride :p

Cheers all. Understand that a Sella dealer is going to push what they stock. Hoping a bit of science would cut out the trial and error of buying a saddle at random.

I do get VERY hot in the summer, that's why I pretty much ride with sleeveless tops.. - gun show aye! :o

got my garmin/gopro mount! we'll see if it fits

*looks at your post count*

Makes sense :p

Grudas on the daily commute... :D

3x Lol'd.

I tend to select more threads than you're allowed to and reply to them, go back through and select the ones I missed (& any new) then edit the first post to include them (unless more time has passed, or a big subject change). I'm probably every refreshers nightmare as my posts change/get reviewed until I'm happy ;)

That sounds weird, maybe it's not a manned station/no reception?

Will try mount tomorrow as not got my VIRB/gopro adaptor with me at work.

Need to clear some recordings from my VIRB too and track down my other 32GB card... I'm sure I read somewhere about a setting on the VIRB where it would overwrite old files, but can't find it myself?

Lettuce know what you think of it (I'm impressed with mine... At least until I fit the gopro adaptor).

I tend to get hot in the summer (UK summers I melt, my mum's ginger) and when working outside previously I didn't really feel the cold... Now I work in an office/generally less fit, I feel the cold when sat still, once I'm warmed up/a mile or 2 into my commute, I'm not so bad. The cold wind gets me (breathing & cold sores unless prepared), not cold feet/hands or anything else extra.

Dem socks.

Hahahaha, the socks ain't so bad, it's the leg warmers which do it! That, the face and the helmet really manylolz. Think he's been getting his gunshow tickets from grudas' supplier?

Had a little set up of my bike, but couldn't find my tape measure to try to match it to my road bike. Had a little ride round the block, the new 105 shifts are absolutely fantastic! Need to bed the brakes in though.

Also got these as my old MTB are getting pretty tatty and don't have much grib left. Got studs in them so will be good for some cross.

Oh and these for posh road riding! :D (got both pairs for a whopping £9 extra with Evans currently offering £100 of free accessories on some bikes)
