Anyone tried any Colomba jerseys? I'm looking at sportwool gear. Rapha is hysterically expensive and shuttvr is considerably amusing. I'm looking seriously at torm, but Colomba are also pretty reasonably priced. Anyone?

White shoes are annoying unless you only go out in them in bone dry weather

I want some spd-sl shoes that don't cost the earth and will fit my wide feet, which pretty much leaves me at the Shimano r088s... In white. Damnit.

Back on November or something I was out for a ride in some hideous weather with one of our guys who was wearing bright yellow shoes, like the ones above. The other cyclists at the cafe laughed at him :p

I need a new speed and cadence sensor for my new bike, has any bought the new Garmin Cadence/Speed Sensors: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00JM6DK...m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=0Y76NBJC8JGHW3RZ3NTW
Read a few reviews and DCRainmakers review and I'm not sure? Speed sensor looks better as you dont need to attach it to your frame and instead it sits in the rear hub so would be neater on the new bike but dont want to sacrifice looks for incorrect data.

On my winter bike I currently have the old garmin speed cadence sensor GSC-10 which works fine, so dont know whether to just pick on of these up.

Did my first sportive on Saturday at Windsor (https://www.strava.com/activities/257935309), the turbo training from Dec I've been doing seems to be paying off and wasnt too out of shape for the sportive after 3 months of inactivity due to breaking four vertebrae! Next one on Sunday at Sandown for the Surrey downs.

New ones are good never had any issues and I use them on the mtb due to the chainstay being too far from whrrl/pedal at same time.

had one for a few months - the speed sensor. Never had any problems! seems to work fine and battery hasn't been replaced yet.

They seem to be pretty good. I've used them on my road bike both on the turbo and out in the wild! No issues as far as i can see so far.

Update on the injury list (well me so far)

Warning ***** Contains excessive flesh content ******

:p

I appear to have the wonkiest right kneecap in the world in that pic! Generally scabbing and the start of some choice bruising

Not too visible in this pic but a swollen thumb and start of some bruising. The handlebar did this to my left hand.

Won't be able to check my bike properly till Wednesday to see if i can fix the rear shifter / inspect for other damage. But so far lost a water bottle that went flying and burst, ripped my leggings but I think my top survived. Put it through the wash but didn't check it for holes.

ouch! I remember my smash a couple of years back..

two different smashes, first one ~2months of painful walking and a year of pain, 2nd just a massive gash

Had a little set up of my bike, but couldn't find my tape measure to try to match it to my road bike. Had a little ride round the block, the new 105 shifts are absolutely fantastic! Need to bed the brakes in though.

Also got these as my old MTB are getting pretty tatty and don't have much grib left. Got studs in them so will be good for some cross.

Oh and these for posh road riding! :D (got both pairs for a whopping £9 extra with Evans currently offering £100 of free accessories on some bikes)

I like, I like, I like.

Cross bike looks decent. The colour is nice. Does it feel heavy? Cross bike def in my plans for winter 2015. I quite fancy doing some cross racing. Both shoes look great. Nowt wrong with white shoes - my spesh ones are two years old and are still pretty tidy. I wear them all year as they are my only ones but they are often clad in over shoes.

Managed to ride Friday and was quite pleased with my form for February. Trainer Road seems to be helping as there is no way I could ride that fast this time last year. Arguably even my summer form wasn't much better!!

Think those two put my wee scuff to shame!

I'm getting more movement into my leg and thumb as the day wore on so I'm lucky its just superficial stuff. I took a quick look at my bike and it appears that the rear shifter has bent slightly and isn't changing properly. I'll wait a couple of days for the bike to 'dry' properly then hook it up to the turbo for some testing and adjusting.

Any recommendations for some shoes/cleats for the Shimano A530's? Just been using normal trainers up until now but think while set up on the trainer I may as well get used to unclipping while on it! Could upgrade to 105/Ultegra pedals though?

No need to change pedals. Just get the best MTB shoes you can afford. Those pedals are SPD so wont match to road shoes. Nothing wrong with MTB shoes the differences between SPD and SPD-SL are largely cosmetic. MTB pedals have the advantage of being double sided which is nice if you are commuting.

Very nice. After a(nother) weekend of deliberating and trawling back through my rides of last year I've decided that is exactly the sort of bike I should be looking at. My budget will put me nearer the One than the Four but I'm going to give them a very close look along with some others.

Oh and those hoods do look huge! Are they comfy though?

Had those LG shoes for about six months. Super comfy, great fit with the tension laces, and nice to get two pairs of inner soles for winter and summer. Great buy and mine are still fairly white!

On Trainer Road I've been converting my kJ to kcal burn at a rate of 1:1. Is this correct?

example: http://www.trainerroad.com/cycling/rides/1732574-White

The stat in question is called "kJ (Cal)". When riding on the road I was under the impression that you would often increase the kcal vs kJ due to inefficiency but with turbo training I guess I originally assumed that wasn't the case. Now I'm not so sure. Does anyone know?

random 10 mins of riding with the superstar/garmin combo mount! if anyone wants to see how it performs! seems alright tbh - ignore the cheesy music, needed something with CC rights quick and this was the first one lol.

So who wants to share their favourite flexibility routines?

More of a general stretchy tone-up thing really. Use a foam roller for releasing those pesky tight spots and a small core workout with mostly plank exercises thrown in. I am going to start doing some shoulder mobility work with bands though as my shoulders are super tight and really need sorting out.
