Almost Famous is so wrong!

Route wise Rochdale on the return leg isn't hugely inspiring, but you're only skirting it so should be ok. The climb from Denshaw that goes on for a good few miles on the way out is stunning. Just after the climb, crossing the m62 on the bridge over the gorge is absolutely breathtaking.

Awesome :) I went back to your old route and read through the comments to try and work out the nicer parts. Hopefully getting to Oldham won't be too hideous - I've taken most of the route back before and though it sucked it was at least quick/all downhill.

I might skip Almost Famous but...y'know..greasy burgers... :p

Just ordered a few bits from Planet-X in anticipation of the new bike (just bottle cages, tubes etc.) but I was wondering where was the best place to get a Garmin mount from for my Edge 200? Pretty tapped out after getting the new bike so cheap is good :p and I'm thinking the "out front" type ones might be my best bet?

A pretty bleak and blustery day down here but two of us ventured out.

Was a decent ride until I managed to lose it turning into a right hander. Bike just went from under me and I slid across the road. No cars but also took my buddy down who was just behind me. THe new shifters and bar tape have lasted 10 days !! Worst still I dont think Assos will be able to repair my mates shorts!! Thats bike riding!

Superstar mount is £13 and gets good press.

I'll whip the stock mount off my MTB to keep me going until the black superstar one is back in stock. TBH I have no idea why I'm bothered what colour components are all of a sudden :p

Quite disappointed with the hubs on the Fulcrum Racing 5s. Actually, they're atrocious. I've only been using them this winter, washing the bike down after every ride. Today I noticed that the front hub is not spinning freely at all. Thought they were bombproof...

But in general, my winter steed is in a sorry state. It needs
New pads
New cables inners/outers throughout
New chainrings
New headset bearings

In the spring its going to get a full strip down and service.

Anyway, a good run out today. https://app.strava.com/activities/261031217

Majorly miffed that the wind robbed me of sub 2 hours on a good little route (for me) I put together.

First attempt was 2:06:07 14-Feb-15

Today was 2:01:16 28-Feb-15

I do start and finish the ride by the UK's tallest wind turbine :p gusts of 40mph was just how I wanted to finish the ride, basically riding sideways

(Need to master eating on the go with some friendlier baggies. Was swerving all over the place and getting majorly frustrated!)

I had Racing 5's on for 4 years and many thousands of miles and the hubs were flawless.

This is what I had heard.

Maybe changed them then as mine are goosed after one winter as well.

Are they serviceable by a mechanical moron does anyone know? If it's just a bit of grease they need i'd have a crack at it.

I'm going to have a go at them this week. There's an Alan key bolt on the hub... I guess that's got something to do with it. I'll do some research.
