I really need to get my bike setup, done 28 miles at the weekend and both knees were killing me from 20 miles on wards, something is definitely not right.

I found my knees were getting sore on my old mountain bike. Put the saddle up about an inch and it felt a lot better last time I was out. Never thought it could make such a difference.

The CdF is lovely but if I was looking at a Genesis it would be the Equilibrium. Couple of guys I know have them and they are very sweet indeed.

If the framesets weren't as rare as hens teeth I would have got one instead of the Burls.

Old bike

Bought this bike off of a friend's Dad not too long ago. Ride fairly well, though the wheels are not amazing. Considering getting new tyres for it as I can't really afford wheels, I love the colour of the frame, it was built up from nothing in the 90s I think, and the wheels in the photo are the same ones that came with it. Wouldn't mind getting a more modern bike eventually but for the amount of commuting I do at the moment, I don't see point in spending money I don't have.

Cost me £100.

//hadn't see the "Show your bike off" thread, shall post it over there now.

tbh I've just invested (£40+about the same in fixing/repair) in a steely like that, only thing that annoys me is that the tyres don't come in the same kinda range as 700c and I don't think my brakes will take a 700c wheel (will have to try soon)

I'm very new to cycling and road bikes in general so I thought I'd start with something relatively cheap rather than going all out. It's probably just me being new to it all but I seem to have make sure the front wheel is straight when I'm putting it on, I don't know if this is the same with all road bikes, I just find it sort of difficult to get it on perfect . I do however find changing/repairing the tube a task, but that'll probably come with time I'm guessing.

Nice :) Did you go for the [Lezyne] micro floor drive HPG?

I've not got round to ordering it yet! Please let us know what you think of it once you've had a play.
I couldn't wait any longer, the suspense was killing me :D

I just dumped the air out my 700x20c unicycle tyre and pumped it back up. 75 pumps from flat to 110psi which sounds a lot, but it was a damn sight less pumping than it takes with a lot of pumps. As I suspected, you do need to lean on it quite hard when the pressure gets up and I'd probably recommend a gloved hand because the handle really starts to dig in. 220g with the bottle cage mount.

Yeah, good little pump

could be it's not "true" ie straight/flat, if you spin it does one part rub on the brakes or wobble?
if so take to your local bike shop and they will fix it for you!
I've just had to do the same on mine, it's pretty common tbh

I'll be sure to check that out tomorrow! Cheers! By any chance do you have any idea what the repair would cost if there is a problem, or does it vastly vary from region to region?

Nice, glad it works well :) I had read about the pump digging in a bit. I thought they may have sorted that in the version they brought out this year but apparently not. At least you only had one tyre to pump!! :D

Surely the saddle can't be comfortable in that position?

A colleague is a very experienced cycle rider, instructor and mechanic whose seat is about 35 degrees sloping down, maybe even slightly more. It looks very odd but he says it's perfect for perching his behind on the back and avoiding perineum pressure. People scoff but it works for him and I can't see the problem with that.

I actually find it quite comfy, not really tried it in other positions though so I can't be sure it's perfect for me. I am relatively short and having it like that may help me out, I don't know. :P

Hi guys, I've been offered a set of Dura-ace CL24's for £450 inc postage, the seller says they've only done 300 miles and I've been quite tempted to by them. Is this a good price or shall I stick around for a better set to come along? Bear in mind that I've been waiting to upgrade wheels since I got my bike.
