I'm already plotting my next selection of bike kit for the end of the month, and we're not even halfway into this month. Looks like I'll be picking up another front light, some overshoes and some full finger gloves, so I stand a chance getting through winter. I'm eyeing the Smart Lunar 35 which I can get on ebay for about £20, and then I'll need to find the gloves and overshoes for about £15 each. Probably do-able, if I pick up cheap bits.

I think I'm going to be buying bike kit for the rest of my life...

Is anyone here going to the cycle show at the NEC the weekend of the 29th?

Has anyone been before? Any bargains to be had?

I was looking at going but it's the babies birthday the next day so I can't really justify it.
if you go take/post pics!

having cycled in this morning and feeling COLD from it, I'm looking at arm/leg warmers and longer gloves also!
if you see any bargains let us know!

I went to a cycle show at the ExCeL last year and it was absolutely rubbish. Hardly anything on sale and very few stands showing anything apart from bikes.

I went with quite a big list: pedals, tyres, chainset, etc, and none of it was on sale, let alone the right item. Schwalbe and Continental even had a stand with all their tyres on display... nothing for sale. Completely pointless.

NEC one may be different but just warning you! I even dragged the girlfriend round and felt very guilty.

funnily enough i went out about 9:30 this morning and thought that, I think ive decided on arm warmers and leg warmers, rather than a long sleeve jersey and trousers

Hopefully they'll be some bits on offer as I'm not after a new frame or bike (n+1 might kick in when I see the carbon goodness).

I'll be taking a camera, will post any decent pics up.

Arm and leg warmers are probably the best piece of kit I've bought for cycling. I get a Torm jersey for my birthday this weekend so it might superceed it.

I picked up arm and leg warmers from Lidl a couple of weeks back. I also got a set of fleecy bib tights, though, so I'm not sure how much use the leg warmers will get.

ordered some warmers, as i aleady have Endura jersey and shorts, i was looking at Endura ones, decided to ge the FS260 Pro arm and leg warmers and the Thermal socks they do

There does seem to be a lot of "And there's Bradley Wiggins, and he's definitely turning the pedals on his bike."

Hugh Porter is dreadful, I know he's come from a cycling background and has been around the sport for years, but he's obviously past it. Tonight's finish - "Oh and Cavendish just comes through and takes it on the line", after you could see Cav had blitzed past everyone else and seen him win!

I also don't like the slavish use of the sponsor names - "Yodel" sprints and "Skoda" KoM - over and over, though I imagine that's probably some lameass condition of getting the tv rights.

I suppose it's better than the other way round. When I was a lad Skoda sprint was an oxymoron and Yodel king of the mountains would probably have been something like this:

Don't think he would have worn the polka dot jersey though :p
