Where from?? I've been told my 54cm Black Super Six 105 wont be in till June! No one can get hold of any. Evans have team in 54 but i want black, all my my bikes are black & white, call me a tart i dont mind!

Evans Canary Wharf. Both in Liquigas colours ;)

I've got a Trek Madone 5.9 coming in a few weeks as well to try. If I like it then my new best bike will be a Madone 6.9 SSL in Leopard Trek colours - what a way to spend my bonus! :)

Obviously I'll have to have the full team kit as well...

Hang on; you're going to have a Super Six, a Synapse and a Madone 6.9? Surely there isn't that much difference between those bikes?

I'm aiming for my stable to be my Bryant tourer, Cervelo S1, Cervelo RS and a Cervelo P3 but they are all radically different geometries and materials and have very different uses.

Looks like there was a massive hill near the start, was it tough?!

There will be errors in the elevation, I can't see there being a 900ft ascent in one got round there, best to check elevation correction to "enabled"

Some rides I get back it says 13,000ft, then I click "enabled" on elevation correction.... 7,500ft... :(

Sorry, just realised I hadn't posted clearly - forgive me. I've ordered the Super Six and Synapse to test.

I then got in touch with Trek UK to enquire about the Madone 6.9 SSL. Apparently they are custom made in the US for each customer, and as the cheapest bike is over £5K, they don't send them out to test. So instead Trek UK are sending a Madone 5.9 to Evans Canary Wharf for me to try, which apparently has a similar geo.

I then have to decide between the 3 bikes. The Super Six and Madone 6.9 SSL are most similar, the Synapse has a Sportive geo. The Madone is massively more expensive though.

I am open minded at the moment. All I have as a point of comparison is my Ribble Winter Trainer :)

I'm thinking of getting a shorter stem for my road bike and going from 110mm to 90mm as, having spent more time on the bike recently, I feel too stretched out. Are there any drawbacks to going for a 90mm stem?

What device are you using?
The Garmin Edge 500 doesn't use GPS for elevation measurements, it uses a Barometric altimeter which is pretty accurate.

This quote is taken from the "?" by the Elevation Corrections option on Garmin Connect
Activities recorded from devices without a barometric altimeter are enabled with Elevation Corrections by default. Alternatively, activities recorded by devices with a barometric altimeter generally contain accurate elevation data and therefore Elevation Corrections are disabled by default.

Check the elevation correction to "enabled" and it's exactly the same as "Disabled" ;)

Got nicely t-boned by a Mercedes on the way to work yesterday. :(

Lucky escape for me - no breaks but plenty of bruising and sprained neck, but haven't been able to inspect the Orbea yet. Definitely needs new handlebars but need to check the frame etc. for damage. Am I right in assuming Carbon is more fragile in situations such as this?

Ow. Hope you got details, witnesses and reported it.

Get your frame checked professionally. Any frame, but carbon especially, can have damage that you can't see with the naked eye.

Ouch, only come off once in the 5 months I've had the bike.

My lack of care of the bike recently has taken its toll on my chain and it threw a link today. I didn't ride monday and friday for work so the bike was put away wet for 4 days and the chain was rather brown when it came out. It's also full of road crap, the reaods are so muddy round here! Anyway, I took it to the nearest shop and he gave me all this spiel about the chain and the rear sprocket being worn together so I just can't have a new chain I gotta replace both. On a bike thats done 1000 miles I'm not so sure. Anyway he's just sorting the link for me, I have a bike tech friend who has his own shop who's on holiday at the moment but he will give me a more relaibe verdict.

Pretty much true what he says though. IF you've done 1000 miles in ****e weather chances are the cassette will be fairly worn along with the chain.

You could fit a new chain and chance it but you may find it skipping under load.

You could probably get 3 chains to each cassette if you change the chain when the wear indicator says to but most people just run them until the chain breaks and it's new chain and cassette time.

Next time I replace my chain I want to use a chain which I can take off the bike to clean. Currently have a 10 speed Campagnolo set-up, what would everyone recommend and is there such thing as a reusable link?

think I'll order one of those cams if I start road riding.
anyone got a reccomendation

Depends, do you want cheap and ok in good light conditions, or something to sue all year round?

If it's the former then an MD80 clone from ebay should do the trick and is less then a tenner.

If it's the latter then the Contour HD 1080p is the way to go (or the GoPro HD, which is what Top Gear use for their filming but it looks a bit clunky to me). These are around £250.

The differences are quality, low light performance, weather proofing and run time.
