Anyone remember a month or two ago, Wiggle had an offer where if you spent £100 you got a voucher worth £x the following month?? Or something along those lines. I cant remember the exact details of the deal now.

yes:

'Spend £100 or more and get a FREE gift voucher worth £15 from Wiggle to use in October' i missed it by a day

It took about 30 seconds to install. VERY easy. Just take out the old 'lens' (just a flat piece of hard plastic), the put in the other one, making sure you align the lines in the lens vertically.

I think it is less dazzling yes, although I havent got mine tilted up much, as I use my primary light (a diablo) for seeing further away. Although I did turn off the diablo for a bit, and just used this light, and it was still perfectly usable even on the low setting.

Good news, no tight fit and no larger o ring or black tape needed??

Yes, I thought it was something like that. I have only just remembered about the offer. Well, I spent over £100 in a single transaction and never got my voucher!! Whaaa!

RE: The magicshine clones, would it be better to run this always on for seeing then one flashing to be seen alongside it. Would one of these clones set to flash be a waste and a normal led light be OK?

Wide angle lens I ordered was item no: 261119985356

Disclaimer (I've not received it yet, not my 1200 lumen light to test it's OK but I got the link from someone else either on here or Pistonheads).

I can assure you that one of these lights on full, AND another on strobe would blind any and everything that comes within 10 miles of you!

But seriously....the strobe mode is ridiculous. It uses the full power mode, but flashes at a VERY fast speed. So yes you will be seen, but anyone near you will have an epileptic fit!

You would be much better off buying one for normal use, then a cat-eye (or equivalent) light with a flashing mode.

I wouldnt run the clone on flash mode, will probably give drivers fits - a normal LED small light will be fine to flash along side it!!

Cheers - thats the one as i recognise the pics and desc, ordered!

Just a heads up if people haven't noticed.

Evans are doing a 20% off voucher code for clothing, components and accessories. It's on their homepage.

Just ordered myself a Lezyne mini pump.

Did you check your junk folder? Or are you sure you did it during the promotion period? I received verification that I would receive a voucher almost immediately after receiving email confirmation. Then had my voucher sent middle of October and was valid until yesterday.

That's what I do. Cree light on constant, pointing fairly low to the ground to avoid dazzling drivers, and a small Cateye flashing. I have an old Cube light on constant at the back, and I've got a cheapo rear light that came with the Cree which I need to fit to the back. It has all kinds of mobile disco flashing modes.

Well I've had a quick play with the Cree (ebay) LED light, and so far I've got to say I'm impressed......for something that cost £27 inc delivery.

Of course, the cheap cardbox box is a bit different to the quality of the sort of thing you get from the likes of Exposure etc....but I guess it is cheap.

Here it is on the bike:

After reading this I ordered one of these two, it's pretty good isn't it!

Mine is currently fitted to the right hand side of the headset and I've cabled it up as neatly as I can.

Also fitted my "Chinarello" integrated carbon bars, Fizik Microtex glossy bar tape, Truvativ carbon seat post, Elite cages and water bottles and a set of Continental UltraSports which are SO much better than the Vittorias the bike came with it's untrue.

Got verbally abused on my commute this morning. I was cycling on the cycle path when a guy in all the gear cuts in from a side bridge into my path and forces me to slam my brakes on. Exchange wen't like this:

me: Mate!
all the gear no idea: *ignores*
me: MATE
ATGNI: ******* ***!

Obviously knew what he did but decided to shout expletives at me. Well it was raining and just up a head there are some nearby roadworks which leaves the cycle path covered in mud. Still only using an ass-saver I wait until we hit the mud put the boot down drop in front of him and all I heard was ****** **** *** turned around and he had a face full of mud at which I smiled repeated his first expletive and put the boot down again.

I thought as long as you have a static and a flashing light it's fine?

Flashing alone would make it difficult for people to gauge your distance.
