And he's sprinter lol does bring it home as you said. People bag on Cavendish for being a crap climber but compared to the average rider he would trash them.

Correct.

Cav beat the winning time of the fastest Etape de Tour rider last year by over an hour. He's an exceptional climber by any normal standard. He only looks crap compared to to the finest climbers in the Pro-Peleton.

Road.cc did a feature on road bike disc brakes not long ago. I didnt look much into it at the time, but i think most of those bikes are still prototype/pre-production demo bikes and if any of them are on sale, they will be silly prices.

One of the main problems with disc brakes on road bikes is that hydraulic brakes are far better than cable brakes, but neither shimano nor sram have an option for using their combined brake/shift levers with hydraulic brakes yet.

Disc brakes are becoming quite popular in cyclocross, so maybe a CX frame with skinny road tyres would be the best option. I still dont think that would be cheap tho.

That looks great.

I had my first shot on a velodrome today. It's so much fun. The banked corners are scarily steep when you first see them but feel amazing at full speed. It's just like riding on the flat, but with the gforce pushing you down onto the bike.
Cant wait to get back on it!
