Got myself some arm and leg warmers, overshoes a base layer top and some warm socks. All the stuff looks pretty good, spent £35, probably would've cost double that elsewhere!

Has anyone used Decathlon's arm warmers?

I use lidl ones at the moment that I got last year which are perfectly good but I want some white ones because... they'll look sweet with my jersey. Most of them are expensive but the Decathlon ones are only £14. Are they crap?

I've had mixed success with their stuff, I like their jerseys but the bibs are a bit on the see-through side (the ones I've bought anyway).

Alternatively, recommendations for white arm warmers as cheap as possible please!

Just back from Aldi Norwich, most stuff is in stock bar the base layers and large socks - only wanted baselayers and a towel so 50% success rate!

I used that Gore jacket yesterday for the first time - amazing bit of kit and i didnt realise how cold it was until i opened the zip a little for some air (had a base layer on too) and the cold hit me! Its going to be a great jacket in the coming months!

I used mine properly for the first ride on the Stoke Tour Ride last Sunday. It is indeed an excellent piece of kit! Kept me warm throughout and it had only JUST started letting water in during the last 10minutes. But even then, it wasn't uncomfortable. And that is after being exposed to rain for the previous hour.

You can get quality arm warmers from loads of places for £10-£15. My Rapha's were £15 in the sale. My Nikes were £10 from Wiggle. have some Gore that were £13 from Pro Bike Kit. Merino ones from Planet-x etc etc.

I got some spoke reflectors, winter gloves, socks and the toolkit from Aldi.

Oh yeah I forgot about the Gore Phantom. I ended up returning mine to Wiggle as the S was too baggy and bought a Gore Oxygen III SO for the same price from Royles. It doesn't have zip off arms but is essentially the same jacket with more of a roadie cut. It is truly awesome, especially for £63.

They still have 2 left in size S in case any midgets like me missed out...

Hurrah, just broke my flat tyre virginity - back one as well.
Took about 15 minutes but I know what I'm doing now.
My problem was I found the hole in the inner tube but couldn't find it in the tyre until I realised the tyre had moved round about 6".
Yes I did remove the tiny bit of glass.

I guess you just changed the tube and not try and patch it?

Completely forgot that there is an Aldi on my way home from work. Popped in there and just got some socks and some cycling unrelated microfibre towels. Was looking for a male base layer but there didn't have size S :(

Don't laugh but Aldi are having the 'Aldi Cycling Event' where they seem to have some bargain prices on gear.
I'm particulary interested in this stuff for winter to put under my nice winter cycling coat and trousers.
Do they look OK?

Any other stuff that looks a bargain or stay away?

picked up leg/arm warmers, two long sleeve jerseys and some socks, the jerseys are baggy in some areas but the size down was mega small.
was tempted by the leggins but I think they would have been v baggy and am saving for some bib shorts.

I got the set of lights the blue winter jacket, socks and shoe covers.

The front light is metal and sturdy, plenty blinding enough to be seen with, wouldn't be able to comment on how it is to see with until I try it out in the dark. The rear light feels a lot flimsier, but is very bright too. I'd say certainly worth the money.

The winter coat is great, I'm wearing it now! nice and cosy, ended up with a choice of the small or XL, usually a medium but the small fits perfectly :)
