^can't complain at that!

My K-edge Garmin mount finally arrived today, after being on backorder for about two months! Lovely bit of kit.
I don't have room on my commuter though lol, so that will go on the Boardman and wait for a reasonably nice day to try out.

:(

THE NEW BIKE !! :(

yes, but its a bike that will be abused! first week 85miles already! :o works out at ~22-24miles a day commuting! :) i do enjoy it but my palms hurt A LOT :)

I'm so glad I got a bike that can fit chunky tyres. I feel a bit anxious going over some slippery patches or wet leaves with my 32mm tyres. I can't imagine balancing my portly frame on 23's...

coming from a bmx with 2.1" tyres it takes some getting used to here.. :D at least i know what to expect.. i hit my knee in concrete but felt nothing :D

grudas, get some padded mitts / gloves.

If your palms still hurt then you might look at your position as you might be putting too much weight through your arms.

Thats the reason why i got new gloves, even though my current ones are still almost new, my hands did start hurting on one of my long rides (about 16 miles) so i bought some Specialized BG mitts 2013 ones @ £24
came yesterday but not tried them out on the bike, but the pads seem much much better than my other ones, these gloves are designed to be comfy on long rides, the pads are REALLY thick!

I have some leather gloves, obviously there is no padding on them but they do make it feel better! :) ill check out some proper cycling gloves.

thats what i bought, when it went into the basket and i went to checkout it said £24

I clicked on Specialized mitts and i thought that was the best ones to get, i didnt go for the race ones as they are really for shorter distances

Could be your ulnar nerve, it's quite common for MTBers to have problems with it because it runs up the inside of your wrist and can be compressed by your handlebars (the vibrations dont help either).

You can get special grips for flat bars that look like this:
47862

They reduce pressure on the nerve.
I dont know if there is anything similar in a drop style bar but you can get special gloves designed to reduce pressure on that nerve.

Thanks touch, where can you buy them from ?

I was thinking it was my ulnar nerve, becuase it was at the palm, and shooting up the inside of wrist for an hour or two after i finnished my ride, hence i bought those gloves

Not come across anything like that for drop bars. I've got the black/grey Ergon GC3 grips for my flat bars which are excellent and give a good range of hand positions. Here's their range:

How padded is your bar tape?

Thats a good point.
You could try double taping your bars (just wrap another layer of bar tape over the stuff already on it). A lot of pros do that for races on cobbles(Paris-Roubaix, etc).
You can also get gel pads that fit under your bar tape, but you'd need to take off your old tape and get new stuff over the top.

edit: found some gel pads (here)

You may be holding the bars too tightly which is also counter productive to performance as it consumes more energy. Try keeping your top half more relaxed.

fudge cycles have been great to me

I've used Fudges under the guise of MySpokes. They only delivered half my order and have ignored all my emails about it.

50/50 then, lol!

Think I'm probably gonna order the Bryton 40, and as I said in my previous post, I should be protected by Paypal if things go wrong.

For the last few weeks I've come in from work smelling and my family thought it was body odour.
To cut a long story short I've finally found out it is actually my winter gloves that stink and they leave an awful smell on my hands.
Mrs Dimple has washed them but they still stink.
So, please spec me some excellent winter gloves that don't smell.

padded mitts/gloves look ok but it doesn't look like there's much padding on the area i get pain from

ill try putting less weight/relaxing my position a bit and see if it helps :) worst case scenario ill put an extra layer of bar tape! :)

thanks.
