Ouch! Were you ok? Were your tyres at the right pressure? Nasty business. I got a pinch flat 2 weekends ago from a pothole despite having my rear tyre at 120psi.
I was fine thankfully, the bike not so much lol. Tyre pressure was fine too, just happened that I didn't see the crater in the road due to the distance to the van, the dark and me being a fanny.
I had just came down a steep hill, it levels out for a speed camera and then goes down again. I was going at the same speed as the cars so anything from 25-30. Getting closer to the back of a van, too close really, but I knew he would start pulling away as it levelled out a bit. Too close meant I didn't see the pot hole. Nearly snapped my wrists! Front wheel has a dent in it too and I had to change that tyre too.
Probably get some fulcrum 7s in when I have more cash.
I want to sell on the Caad 8 and maybe get myself a Felt F75. Still not ideal for commuting due to the lack of full mudguards. Either that or a Forme longcliffe would do the job nicely.

I have these and have been decent, i was set to replace them for gp4000s as i assumed i would get punctures but none so far *touch wood* For £12 i dont think you can complain!
I'm raising money for Movember, if anyone wants to sponsor me. I'm growing a 'tache and Wiggo sideys... Link to donation page in sig! Cheers.

report it.
you may be able to get them to replace your wheel.
iirc if a pot hole is reported and the council have not filled it then they are responsible for ANY damage it causes.
picked up some conti ultra road race ones when they where 11 quid, had a puncture the next day! it was the roundest pebble EVER that went though it too!
after that it's been fine!
I ahould have asked this ages ago..
What cleaning tools do you recomend, id like to have an "all-in-one" solution if possible, id like less brushes etc as poss
probabally getting the park tools kit to do the chain
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=5783
how does that brush work, i mean the curved end?
any other tools and fluids i could buy, what about a brush to do the rear cassete and derailer like that park tools thing? and a brush to get into the hard to reach places?
Thanks
It has to have been reported already and not repaired within a certain timescale before they will consider compensation - pretty fair really as you can't expect them to compensate from something they don't know about!

finally got off my lazy ass and got out for a fairly short ride. doing a bit of cardio in the gym and watching what im eating must be helping as i got a few PB's. I definitely feel that i have lost a bit of confidence on the descents after coming off a couple of weeks back but im sure that will improve in time.
