squeals? as in the actual brake mechanism makes a noise or is it the pads making a noise when they touch? - my bmx does it all the time due to painted rims and soft pads :)

never had it on a aluminum braking surface with medium/hard compound pads

pretty sure its the pads, its like they are hot, but it comes on early on in my ride

Tyres - I was all set to buy gatorskin 700x23 from halfords, but my uncle is trying to convince me to go GP4000s because of the black chilli compound or something.

I want a tyre that is good, grippy in dry and wet and is puncture resistant as i'll have other things to worry about on my Paris ride.

Any advice?

no other way to reduce it bar replacing pads then.. i don't get it on my roadie but thats due to hard pads + alu breaking surface.

but if its dry and warm and pads are soft they will squeak.

whats your breaking surface? carbon? or alu?

both will do the job, both are rated highly but i see people recommending the gp4000's more than gatorskins ?! haven't tried either but im sure you can't go wrong with either one of them!

to be honest im not sure, I know the frame is carbon, not sure on the wheels
think they are DT swiss 3.0

ive not replaced anything on my bike as og yet, not needed to, so the tyres/wheels and pads are the same when I bought new in October

will probably be alu, i guess its just the heat mate.. id ignore it and not worry to much about it! i know it can be annoying and tbh i used to hate it on my bmx and i still do but i found some good uses for it, when bmxing on pathways i can warn people of my incoming awesomeness with loud squeak that scares the dead ones around me and the person in front of me.. ah. - i keed i don't do that often.

Much of a much-ness. Do they have to match?

On both my bikes I run a 23C gp4000 up front as I have literally never had a front puncture.

Then one bike runs a 25c 4seasons and the other a 25c gatorskin. Most weight is on the rear so I find it helps with puncture protection, rolling resistance, grip and ride quality.

When mine started squealing it was metal on metal so I changed my pads.
It took me about two weeks before I realised what it was.

I took my wheels off for a clean the other week, and when I put them back the front brake made a funny noise. Took a bit of time to notice the wheel wasn't quite seated properly and the brake was rubbing the tyre wall... Good job I caught that fairly quickly.

seriously? :D lucky you lol, if you was to ride a lot your rim would probably blow up.. - my bmx rim blew up but that was due to wear

Well, ive just toed them in a bit, so well see how that goes tommorow

Also worth checking you've not got any debris stuck in the pad that is scraping against the rim when you pull on the brakes. Either pop the pads out or take the wheels off so you can get a good look at the pad surface.

Gatorskins have better puncture resistance and are cheaper. Their wet performance is a bit sketchy though compared to the GP4000s.

If anyone can help me to find this jersey in this colour I will be eternally grateful.

I've ordered two of these Jerseys with the colour Black/Yellow and both have turned out to be the Neon Yellow version. Even after double checking the colour by asking the company on the second occasion.
