Really have to try some on, sizing is pretty random between brands. You want shoes that are snug but not tight in my experience. Doesn't matter if your toes are closer to the front of the shoe than a normal shoe because your feet generally don't move around. Do make sure the shoes you choose are wide enough though, particularly if you have fat feet (like myself!).
For reference, my shoes/trainers are usually a size 7 (EU 41) but my cycling shoes are a size 8.5 (EU 43) and are a perfect fit.
