I'd wear that

also.. I've just got a payrise! I think I'll get my self a present heh..

I'm sure I won't find anything better for the price! just released by the looks of it too.. full 11spd 6800 ultegra + carbon frame and ok wheelset! can't go wrong?!

I'm a bit vary of carbon frames due to torque and so on limitations but I wonder how do you guys deal with? torque wrenches for everything ?

I'd be very interested to see how you get on with that bike as I've got my eye on in now its got a full ultegra group set. My worry is that they've cut corners elsewhere to get the price down. I assume the frame is a rebadged cheap Chinese job?

I've got a mate who has bought one and he says that its an excellent bike, for the price.

I'm got the chance for free accommodation in Punta Prima, Spain and the flights are cheapish around the time I want to go. Is the riding any good over there ?

I've searched ridewithgps for routes but it doesn't really tell you if they are good or not.

Anyone been there ?

I've had a look at my new saddle compared to my old one. The new one has much lower "wings", if that's what you call them. It's like this: /--v--\ compared to something more like this on my old one: ---v--- So I guess rather than needing a big cutout, what I don't need is a big ridge. Perhaps that'll help to point me in the right direction for something new.

Also, at risk of courting controversy, can anyone recommend a mirror for a bike? I know they're strictly forbidden by the rules, but it's for my wife who is deaf in her right ear, so needs all the help she can get in terms of dealing with traffic behind her, cars overtaking, etc. Does anyone have any thoughts, or have none of us ever even used one?

Anyone got the Wheelsmith Race24's?

http://www.wheelsmith.co.uk/race24

I'm tempted to order these with a Powertap G3 and sell my DA9000 C24's, i could use these on my best bike and swap them to my winter bike later in the year....reluctant to use the C24's during wet/winter.

Would work out ~£150 - 200 cheaper after selling the C24's than just getting a DA Stages crank arm.

Did look at the carbon 30mm or 50mm but i think the warming of a rim descending and potential to blow a tube puts me off.
Contemplated tubs in the past but will be more hassle....

Frame should be perfectly fine. Anyway, most cheap Chinese frames get pretty decent reviews anyway, and with the added safety of buying local.

Only thing I would consider if the groupset. I would probably try and find a 10-speed Ultegra rather than 11-speed, particularity if you're on a budget. 11-speed cassettes and chains are getting close to twice the price of the 10-speed variants, and there's a lot more 10-speed deals around. You can pick up a 10-speed chain and cassette for £25 if you shop around.

I'm expecting delivery of my flo 30s next week, might be another option?

Googled it and is that a US supplied wheelset?

Width might be an issue at 26mm, my Scott CR1 SL doesnt have huge rear clearance and people on 23mm rims with 25mm tyres have reported they are close to the chainstays.
I was thinking of 23mm Schwalbe One's or trusty GP4000S's as the wider rim profile will blow the tyre up a bit bigger anyway.

I've had a Pro Carbon for 18 months or so. It's done probably 3500 miles and used all through last winter without a single problem. I'm not the lightest either, I was nearly 15st last autumn. It's now my commuter/wet weather bike so went out on it this morning and set several PRs on Strava. Superb bike for the money.

urrgghh.

Planned a good 4 hour ride today. kids off to Grans till 1.30pm - Up and ready for the off at 9am. Mate slept in, then finally arrived about 10, 300 yards down the road - ping, he has a broken spoke which seems to put his rim out of shape. So that's him done, dropped him off at home with is bike, finally got out about 11.20 and had a quick 75 mins blast before back home for picking up kids. Always the way - all them good plans.......

On the plus side - new Zonda's seem nice!

Can anyone recommend what entry level look keo pedals to go for, they seem to have a load around £50 but not much explanation to the differences!?!

I run SPD pedals and shoes at the moment, my shoes are perfect fit until its hot and then they are a little tight - i think while i replace the shoes for this i shall jump to the penguin side and keep the SPD for the mountain bike. Looking at the Shimano R088 shoes in wide fit, at £60 they seem a very good deal - anything else i should look at??

Confused.

You'll need SPD-SL pedals for the Shimanos, not Looks

most frames will be made in china as said :) that doesn't mean that they're bad! simply open fold design and that's it.

full ultegra groupo is the big selling point here!

I don't really mind that? cassettes last 3000-4000k miles and chains about the same if looked after properly so extra 10-15quid over one is not that big of a deal, also I can't find any other bikes fora grand with that spec?

I love mine, they've transformed my bike. So smooth and fast.

I've had a Planet-X SL Pro Carbon since late 2008 (IIRC). No problems at all with the frame / forks. Will be replacing the original drivetrain this summer and hopefully the wheels when the wallet allows (or I find a deal too good to miss!)
