epic cycling, fallowed by epic driving.. the bus driver just carried on squeezing every cyclist in his way! I just stayed behind ha.

Same cyclist in the video and to be fair she kinda deserved it! She was stupid to overtake when it was obvious what the bus was probably doing, although I'm not sure why he was indicating left at the start of the video without stopping/turning? Edit: brake light looked like a left indicator at the start.

I'm surprised the bus driver gave her as much room as he did as buses are incredibly difficult to keep track of cyclists from (same as lorries). Bus drivers need eyes like a hawk! (and I hate to say it, the majority of coach drivers are older with deteriorating eyesight...)

honestly, london bus drivers seem to be ok :) its the french buses that drive around central london that are a pain in the wrong side, I know they have very little visibility so I only over-take one when it's safe-ish(knowing me)

I've been off my bike a full 5weeks now due to Christmas, snow, Ice a winds an ofc being a little lady, is it gonna hurt after that first ride?

Was doing about 3-5rides a week before average 1.5hr each I'm expecting saddle pain again

The changes between saddles/bikes/positions seems to get me more than anything 'down there', changes in clothing too! Although I've had no more than a week/10 days break in the last 1.5 years. My quads/calves are the worst 2-3 days after a big ride/week off. I'm convinced I'll start looking at protein/muscle recovery later this year and will do some tailoring of my diet before then. I've been quite lucky so far with chaffing/saddle sores (had very little/few) so I've not needed any chamois cream - although I'm sure others here swear by it!

Always best to ease yourself back into it, regardless of the length of break! Nothing worse than picking up an injury and having to take more time off! :D

Thanks touch, topgun06, can't wait now, just need to get work out of the way, be nice to ride without mudguards, lights, 6kg of mud and rubbish attached to my bike, oh and some nice new 220TPI tyres.

Are you taking your own bike? I'd at least take an ass-saver type mudguard.
It'll be warmer over there but you can still get bad weather, especially at this time of year.
Take a waterproof jacket and some warmer stuff as well (arm/leg warmers).

Awesome, first puncture of the year on the way to work today. Repaired it and went out for a rainy lunch ride.... Second puncture of the year. Sigh.

Urgh, I wish the wind would let up. The weather forecast is promising winds of nearly 30mph on Saturday and over 20mph on Sunday. I'll probably try to get out on Sunday morning, but I doubt it'll be much fun.

I've not experienced it in January. I've only been in June/July when it is baking!

Please, please, please take a trip to Cap de Formentor (this one) and report back on how amazing the road now is. :)

25-30mph here today with around 20-25mph on Saturday (rain both days) and then hopefully the forecast stays true and we have sunshine and 15mph on Sunday :) plsplspls:D

Yeah, taking my own bike, as they're paying! I'll take my ass saver thanks.

Will be taking more than the bare essentials don't worry.

Further to the Free Lezyne Headlamp with the ProCycling Subscription - here is what happened to me

Pounced on the offer back when the rest of you did. Like a muppet I inadvertently ordered 2 subs but fairly quickly realised this so emailed them to request cancellation. Didn't hear anything back that quickly but as a precaution went to cancel the D/D. Cancelled that without anything going out and though nothing more of it.

A couple of days later subsinfo contacts me saying they have no record of my account/order. In the meantime no magazines have turned up. Whatever I thinks and I end up buying a light from Amazon.

Shortly after I get a letter from the Procycling publisher/distributor saying that they have run out of lights and will resupply at a later stage. I ignored it thinking it to be an error.

Parcel arrives this week but goes to the post office. Mrs Calpol collects today and it seems its the Lezyne lamp. So it could be I have an even better value light than the rest of you! gonna double check there was no debit but looks like I had a win!
