Out this morning for some local hills and although i felt i wasnt really pushing to my limit at all i absolutely nailed them in slippery conditions.
Ive felt for a few weeks now like my form is getting better, just need to go back and nail them properly in dry none slippery conditions! Damp roads on steep inclines were scary today as they were so greasy...felt like i had to hold back a bit.
Ah nice. Yep - a lot of variables in a lap that could hold you up.17:27 - took me ages to get down to that after usually being around 18:30 last year. I think a lot of conditions are down to luck - I got held up twice by cars I couldn't pass and I think I could do sub 17 if everything was 100%, will have to see. Now I want a TT bike haha
Aha, well played. Which store did you use stateside? I have workmates going over there all the time... probably should utilise that more.Cheers guys,
I decided on a pair of Gatorskin (28c), as I know them and a pair of GP4000 SII (25c)
My work colleague stateside has managed to get both sets for $120 and will ship them with the next planned hardware shipment to me later this month, so around £85 for two sets![]()
Yep - they charged me £5 a cable (brake and rear derailleur cable) + £5 for a barrel adjuster yesterday. They were also quoting RRP for the shifters at £300+ or so... can get them online for £150.Also had to get a new gear cable, popped to local lbs. £4...... for one inner, no wonder people go online if they can! Need to get a bulk load of jagwire ones ideally.

Nearly had a collision with a stupid boy scout who decided to chance it and run across a road when i was speeding along at about 40kph. I shouted "Dont cross!!!" But he did anyway and i nearly hit him when i wasnt sure to pass him on the left or right while slamming on the brakes. I know i shouldnt have as he was only a kid, 14 or 15 but i did swear at him about his stupidity as i sailed past.
Anyone know for any good Facebook groups to sel me road bike on? Road.cc no bites so far
Great ride FT! You have any targets with cycling as you put out some huge mileage. Or just doing it to enjoy yourself and stay healthy?
We ended up cutting our ride short due in part to the ridiculous rain and flooding that we saw from about mile 80. Also in part due to our legs being ruined. 8.9k feet of climbing...eventually even the tiniest bumps felt like cat 1 climbs

I don't think I'd ever class the horror that is the turbo as lazy![]()
