Doing a flat imperial to Southport today. If any of the usuals want to join our (taking it slowly today) group drop me a message :) Setting off from here at 9ish, from Timperley at 10ish.

I never got back to you on that... I'm actually going to southport today... For my daughter's tenth birthday party. Have fun. I'll be curious to see the route you take on strava. There's some huge flat open sections out that way, but it looks like it'll be calm today so you shouldn't be battling headwinds.

My Rivelo bibs came a couple of days ago and I just got round to trying them. Now I've got very little to compare them to brand wise (Planet-X, Dare2b, Boardman, Pearl Izumi) but these are in a different league. They fit like a glove and I didn't notice it at the time but when I went to take them off I noticed the legs had a surprising amount of compression to them.

Certainly going to try more kit from them now.

Actually one of the ones I looked at, just failed to note the price was that low! Great looking jersey, interested to hear how you get along with it :)

Ordered a Medium but it seems pretty small, a little too tight across the chest and arms so I've had to order a Large now. Seems like a nice jersey though.

Since getting my Supersix Evo I've got the bug massively again, not too keen on using it for commuting tho because I have to store it on the workshop floor and I don't want it getting a knock. So I've sold my mountain bike and just ordered a CAAD8 for commuting. I forgot how expensive a hobby cycling was.

First hand example of ALWAYS wear a helmet!

10 of us out today for a social couple of hours. Anyway, one of the guys went down hard after it appears his pedal worked it's way loose or something, he's slipped his balance.

Helmet took the brunt of it along with his shoulder. Completely split the back of the helmet. A fairly bad concussion and very sore shoulder.

Ambulance called after he started to get worse.

I'll put up a picture of the helmet later but a very good reminder about ALWAYS wearing a helmet - could have been much worse!!

I know people are quick to site statistics that you are more likely to suffer a serious head injury walking down the street etc. but I completely agree. I have no issue that people choose not to wear them and I think it should never be anything other than a personal choice but my opinion is that you forget you've got a well fitting helmet on after a few seconds so why not for that 1 in a million occurrence.

Plus, a good helmet looks ****ing awesome ;)

Aero Bikes suck!

Adjusting set up means taking 90% of the front end apart! Absolute PITA, then I cut a brake cable and stupidly cut the longer one first which I now need, so got to get ripped off buying cable from local shop 2 weeks in a row.

Ouch. That's a bit of a pain :(

The weather here is a bit...grey. I just want to ride in the sunshine :(

Well I didn't do the big ride.
Managed about 25 miles with 2600ft...hated the first 5 or so... really feeling not having been out for about 10 days.
