Ouch. That's a bit of a pain :(

The weather here is a bit...grey. I just want to ride in the sunshine :(

£ugh, just a bit, got it sorted, but I started at about 08:30 this morning and finished about 19:15. Albeit having to go for a ride to chill myself out and do a number of other bits in between. The drop in height on the stem spacer best be worth it.

Clicks are INFURIATING!! So many bolts tightened last night but no change. I'm starting to think it may actually be the BB

I know what you mean. The creaking I was getting previously drove me insane. Finally sorted it by taking everything near the BB apart, cleaning, re-torquing, etc.

My bike has had a click for ages. The thing is it was stripped all the way down earlier this year to upgrade the groupset, and it's persisted, so I can only conclude that it's in the one moving part I've not dismantled - the headset. I really don't want to dismantle the front end...

Anyway.

I got out early this morning to climb Winter Hill, which is a cat 2 climb. My route was somewhat disrupted by a triathlon - ruddy triathletes! - but I found a way round. The clouds were low enough to be round the mast when I got there and it was pretty chilly up on top. Hard to believe it's June!

What's going on here, then?

My Garmin 510 switched itself off after 26 miles or so...with battery at 33%
But it only recorded 0.5 miles according to the map....and what it sent to Strava. Took some screenshot of Garmin connect.

It turned on ok and seemed to record the rest of the ride successfully... https://www.strava.com/activities/613880767

Never had a problem with it before...but why would it stop after half a mile yet continue to display everything correctly as I was going for the next 26 miles?

Piece of cack.

Cyclists are so ****ing rude. 90% of the people I waved/nodded/said "Good morning" to today didn't even bat an eye. ********.

Did this ride today: https://www.strava.com/activities/614090939/overview

I got pretty bored towards the end to be honest. The weather was pretty cold in the last 40km (yes km, I'm an engineer who deals with nm, so km make sense to me :p)

Some asshat in a car decided to drive up next to me, and suggested that I could use the pavement if I was holding up the traffic. He was the only guy behind me, and the other side of the road was blocked because of cars being parked on it. So really, he couldn't pass me because of the cars, not because of my speed.

My average speed today was absolutely shocking. I'm really annoyed and upset with myself for that :( On a plus point, I managed to drink and eat on the bike today! First time I've actually managed that!

Please, not this again.

Haha sorry. I just don't understand why you can't give even a nod. You're not that engrossed in your ride that you can't see what's happening on the other side of the road. And you should be aware of what's happening on the other side of the road.

To be fair Shamrock, I wrote it more in anger after that idiot told me to use the pavement. I just think it's polite to say hello to people. I don't expect people to say hello if I don't, but common courtesy and all that.

I had an argument today on a warm down with some idiot who was complaining I was taking up too much road (gravel in road so had moved out) whilst he was on the phone, who then almost crashed into a car coming the other way. I wish I had kept him distracted just a bit longer.

I'm with madindehead, it really annoys me when people clearly looking at you can't even nod. I give people a pass if they're smashing it.

I think the worst ones are the ones that completely blank you but try to see what bike you are riding.

I'll occasionally wave, nod or say good morning but round these parts you'd become a literal nodder if you acknowledged every rider you saw with a nod!:p

I guess where you are yeah, it probably does get a bit tiring. The Chiltern's aren't ever that busy. Someone did give me some advice today though: a guy who overtook me on a hill suggested that my saddle might need to be put a bit higher. I adjusted it the next time I stopped, and it seems to have helped a bit :)

Still super happy about eating/drinking on the bike. I know most of you obviously do this naturally, but it felt like a decent step in keeping my balance and fishing around in my back pockets etc.

Wahoo have also enabled turn-by-turn navigation on the Elemnt. It's very well done. The lights at the top pulse either left or right depending on the direction, and you get lots of warnings. The roundabout symbol is very well done, a little circle with the exit number in the middle. The directions only take up the bottom 2 data fields on the screen, so everything else is still visible. I'll try and get a photo if I can.

Some guy getting into a car muttered something angry sounding after I failed to acknowledge him saying hi. The fact is I had nodded, but I was halfway up my cat 2 climb so wasn't really in the best state for passing the time of day!

That is excusable. People can't expect you to acknowledge when climbing like that!

I nod most of the time, except when it's more important that I pay attention to the road ahead. Get a nod back around 50% of the time. Not really fussed either way.
