I've got the routes for my May charity ride.

Liverpool to Manchester
Manchester to Sheffield

Roughly equal split in terms of distance, but the second leg has nearly three times the climbing of the first, as expected. It looks like 2 cat 3s and two cat 4s, so nothing too tricky. One of the cat 3s gets up to 15% or so, which could be interesting for the less experienced cyclists.

I've ridden quite a lot of the Manchester > Sheffield route. Lots of really nice scenery aside from the bits in Manchester and Sheffield :p

The climb from Marple to Mellor is quite unrelenting but it's not that steep. Good choices on avoiding the TPT from Liverpool to Manchester and the A6 near Chapel-en-ly-Frith too.

You'll be passing about 2 miles from my house when you go through Heaton Chapel :)

Still working on my route for Sat. If you're at a loose end you should feel free to join us btw...

Had a random follow from this guy: https://www.strava.com/athletes/8120305

Any of you guys?

My legs hate you :p

Block him, change profile as Asprilla says.

My legs hate me too, yesterday I did a 5 mile run, then cycled to work. After work cycled straight to the pool and did a 45 minute swim fit class, then did the Wednesday night group ride (27 miles @ around 20mph)

Still cycled in this morning.

You are gonna smash it at the Outlaw!

Well impressed/jelly of your 6:00/mi run the other day.

What's the worry with randoms following, I'm not overly concerned if someone wants to Strava stalk me, there's nothing they can do?! (unless I'm missing something)...

6 minute mile is great pace! Well done Dave! I've a school friend who 6/mi's 10k's and he's a machine! (also an ex astrophysics lecturer and judo instructor - one of those annoying people who excels at anything he does!)

Yeah so am I, unfortunately there's a massive GPS error and it wasn't anywhere near that pace. The Garmin trace has me running through houses and all sorts.

Track where you are at what times to either break into your house or steal your bike.

so to get a response from PX re the order with the voucher, I had to -;

email - ignored
tell them that their CS sucks on their own facebook - which got them to quickly respond.. :/

status re the CS ticket and order..

Apologies for that, your ticket has been picked and forwarded to my colleague who deals with courier issues. Unfortunately, he is off today but will investigate it further tomorrow. I had a look at your account and it looks like the goods were already picked and should be shipped within the next 24 hours. Sorry for the problems!

ehem... :| ordered sunday! ffs.

You can hide the last 1 mile of any route even to your followers

Yep, set up an 'exclusion zone' around your house so nobody can see exactly where you start or finish your rides.

This isnt too much of a problem for me. I'm lucky that all of my bikes live securely inside the house. Strava followers might be able to work out what bikes I own and roughly where I live but if anyone did manage to get in without setting off an alarm or waking us up, there's no chance they would get any bikes out without making any noise.
Would be much easier to take my car keys or phone/laptop.

To be honest I never used to bother with much in the way of privacy settings as there's only a small amount of time each day that my house is empty and my bike is stored somewhere that whilst not super secure also isn't really easy to steal bikes from. As I got a few more people on there that I don't know that well I moved to a slightly more private set up but I still don't like using the privacy zones as it just irks me seeing bits of my ride missing.

Ordered that Planet X London Road I linked to earlier, taking the gamble with SRAM double-shift, although not that worried as it seems pretty straight forward and the Rival 22 groupset gets great reviews!

Hopefully the order goes smoothly :o

Double Tap is great. Lots of folks say it's rubbish, but I just think they haven't given it time. I switch between Sram and Shimano without thinking.
