Does anyone need to order anything from CRC? I have a spare 10% off code that expires at the end of the week.

I've got a 20% PBK voucher too. I think that expires tonight. I'm after a new jersey for Majorca but there is nothing that's really grabbed me while browsing their site. I am so picky its untrue!

I'm saving up for some prescription Oakleys. Sick of getting flies stuck in my eyes :/ I wear my normal glasses, but they're small and don't really protect my eyes, and the lenses are pretty scratched now. Maybe I should reconsider laser eye treatment, probably not much more than a pair of Oaks :)

If you do go for those, let me know how you get on.

Shall do buddy!

I don't quite grasp how a generic prescription bought on amazon will be suitable?

I used to be short sighted and wore glasses from the age of 7 until 23, I had LASEK laser treatment in 2003 which gave me 20/20 vision. It was fantastic not needing to wear glasses and being able to wear sunglasses like everyone else!

More recently (8 months ago) I noted my eyes have begun deteriorating, I put it down to old age (:o) and went for an eye test. The short sightedness I used to suffer from is 'creeping back' (nothing to do with age!). I now have glasses to wear when driving, watching TV and cinema etc. I don't wear them when cycling/normal day-to-day but if my eyes continue to deteriorate I'll have to start wearing them more.

I'm in 2 minds what to do, glasses again (no more fancy shades :(), try out contacts (couldn't wear them before as my perscription was so strong) or maybe even look at laser eye surgery again (which I'd happily have, it's a fraction of cost it used to be!).

If you choose to get lenses with them then you would have to provide them with your prescription, they only usually do up to around +/-4 though which is annoying as im +8 in both eyes lol.

I wouldnt use them anyway id prefer to get my own lenses from a firm in Silsden near Skipton that are professional at making lenses and making them properly!

Also, around a year/two ago new contact lenses were brought out onto the market to suit people with eyes as bad as mine if not worse! The first pair was a trial pair and worked fine, took some getting used to, 25 years old and ive worn them since nursery age. The problem is theyre not consistent in manufacturing, they cant get them to the same spec every time, so because of that i didnt want to part with cash and ended up paying over £200 for some new gigs :(

As part of my getting healthy lifestyle (have lost 8 stone since Sept 14 etc) I now commute to work most days, approx 10miles each way on my Specialized Allez, averaging approx 18mph. I'm still 22 stone so have a bit more weight to lose.

I'm entered into the RideLondon to Surrey Sportive in August for charity, I'm thinking of having a bike fit several weeks before hand to ensure that i am as efficient as i can be and have any tweaks carried out as required.

Anyone recommend any places around the midlands? I'm bang in the middle between Nottingham and Derby but dont mind travelling a bit.

Cheers

Well done on the weight loss, that's impressive!

Bespoke in Derby are supposed to be good - http://shop.bespokecyclesderby.co.uk/

Dunks and I live in Long Eaton (& there's a few other Nottingham members) so if you're local as well we should sort a OCUK ride

That's scarily close! He's obviously speeding and swerving to undertake the car. Definitely report! Dangerous driving if ever I saw any.
.

He was.. I wasn't going slow at around 22ish mph at that time! it was kinda mental.. I had some close over-takes but most of them were at around 20-30mph, this guy was surely going above that and the fact that he swerved into me made it even worse!

What the holy hell!!!!

That is shocking! Up there with one of the worst I've personally seen.

I would've been wiped off if I didn't move to the side?! 6th sense much? :o

Sounds good, might actually get me out on a group ride! :p

I'm tempted to go along to the guys at Bespoke, still having pain on the inside of my knee when pushing a bit. Annoying!

Looks like a dead pigeon in that video Grudas. Did the white van man get him?

Also, the comment on YouTube, talk about trolling :P

guys, we're biased! ;) we don't pay ANYTHING to ride on those roads. Let's just all gang up and die together so we don't cause those poor drivers any trouble.

Best thing is neither do car drivers, there is no 'road tax'! It's 'car' tax! Except maybe he means the congestion charge?

Reported 1 comment and it looks like it's gone, went to users page and reported the user using the comment on another video as 'evidence' of 'hate & violence talk'. Hopefully get the jokers account banned ;)

Going on a ride tonight with a friend again as I'm not going to get much time to ride over the weekend (getting prepared for holiday next weds). Going for a shorter one than normal as he's not got much time, should be ideal as I'm not 100% yet from being ill! :)

Fancy looking boxes! What parts are they?

Full Ultegra 6800 groupset.
Went with a 52/36 11-28 172.5mm in the end.

Kind of related but do we have a for sale section for bike parts? I have a few bits I need to shift now including a stages power meter...

Is that new gearing better for hills than what you had before?

How come you are getting rid of the stages? Also, what crank/BB combo is it compatible for?

We don't have one and we're not 'allowed' one. Forum rules and user safety etc.

Best to keep things private but I bet if you throw a list up on here what you have those interested can Trust message you. ;)

that was a black bin bag full of crap haha..

indeed.. that guy is just lolworthy, he also commented on -;

with "use your mirrors" which doesn't make much sense at all haha.

He's subscribed to your channel, so expect more abuse :P

Found some BCAA tabs in Holland & Barrett at lunch time. So have necked a couple with my fry-up, huge pills! Will see if they make any difference to my fatigue :)

Don't bother taking BCAA when you eat - it's really only something worthwhile for when you're fasted, unless you've got chronically low amounts of protein in your diet.
