ah crud.
ominous noise emanating from the rear of the bike. almost sounds like the brakes rubbing but they seem to have good clearance.
do _not_ want to have to buy new wheels (or anything else) right now!

Anyone bought anything from Cycology? I really like some of their Jersey designs.

I keep looking at their stuff, do like but not got any as it looks a bit fitted for me!

That saddle is also at the forward extent of the rails. Someone needs a smaller frame.

Well it's a pro bike so you can be pretty sure it's set up properly. You often see that sort of saddle position on aero/TT bikes, think it allows them to engage the glutes more. Or somthing.

But anyway, you do not adjust reach by changing your saddle position so it has no bearing on frame size.

to be fair though, the wheelset cost almost as much as the bike! Not that I think you couldn't race on the cheapest triban :)

Hell, if people can do Ventoux on a Raleigh Chopper, us amateurs can't complain about cheap parts :p

I go OK on a caad8 with sora. R500 wheels and a 105 chainset.

You do feel it when it kicks and you have to accelerate heavy wheels up go speed.

I'd say fit of the bike like size, saddle height and bar height first. Wheels next and then having a similar gear to the guys your riding with. Oh and tyres! Tyres make a **** bike feel good.

That isn't a TT bike so that comment doesn't apply. You don't see that position often even on Pro fits. If a saddle is to such extremes then the frame should be a size smaller or larger as appropriate. Agreed about reach but I didn't mentiob reach, I just said the saddle position looks gash and the frame looks too big, which it does.

No, but the only reason saddle position would be related to frame size is if you think that moving the saddle forward == shortening the reach. Which it doesn't.

Marshalled at the Bristol Grand Prix today, was good fun.

What surprised me most was the number of riders running surprisingly basic kit
Got some comp tickets to the Croydon stage of the Pearl Izumi tour series the other week and was chatting to some of the lads in one of the smaller teams starting near the back. They were on their own bikes by the look of it, nothing special, inexpensive wheels and they were rolling on GP4000 clinchers. They weren't the only ones on those tyres. Bear in mind this was in a race with Ed Clancy, Kristian House, Ian Bibby etc.

They didn't win but it wasn't the bikes or the kit, that's for sure.

Three of us out again today. Yet another summers day with a 15mph wind! We headed down to the Chilterns and ended up doing a bit of the Womens Tour route ahead of when the race went through. Climbed Tom's Hill just as the crowds were gathering. I shouted to the spectators that I was in the breakaway which raised a laugh! Forgot to start the garmin so 73 miles in total across some lumpy terrain.

Awful ride this evening. I was far more tired than I thought, it was far windier than I expected, it rained which I hadn't expected and I didn't even get a PR on the evil ******* climb in the middle which I'd at least hoped for... I also nearly got left hooked and had some scrote shine a laser pointer in my face.

Rubbish.
