Good going! I took a look and was tempted but really need bibs not jerseys...

How far are you from the Mendips? The Rapha 'factory outlet' store is near there (Shepton Mallet kinda area) and I hear there's always loads of discounted stuff!

Would cost me about a reduced jersey in petrol to get there and back.

Ive got my bike for sale on ebay with an auction and a buy it now price, the amount of people sending me questions to ask if ive got a buy it now price is unbelievable!

I've gotten to the point where if someone asks me a stupid question on eBay, they get an equally stupid or occasionally rude response in return. I put the effort in to making my listings comprehensive, so the least people could do is read them.

My theory is this weeds out the morons so you don't have buyer issues.

First 24hrs with the new bike has been nice. Instead of my standard 4mile ride home on the MTB I took a longer loop round and did a nice 15km run back.
This morning I rode over the rhine into Germany and along the water back in to Basel. Only about 21km, but felt like a decent ride.
Hopefully in a couple of months I'll be putting down some good miles.

Created a little strava route tonight which is 31km so will see how my legs fair when I get in tonight! Ha baby steps.

Bloody Porsche drivers.

Hahaha! Flash git ain't he, with his Dolan too! Jealous! Pretty sure you could afford the fuel Paul... Just think of the money saved when buying 10 jerseys! ;)

Looks a great route, good hill - doing it in reverse would be good too! An amazing picturesque part of France if I recall, especially with the rides around the Rhine. Are there lots of good cycleways?

I don't need 10 jerseys, and besides the prices are similar to the sales from what I've heard, and the sale had all the jerseys I was interested in, although if I head up that way will try to get a set of bibs!

Dolan will be going end of the year.....

To be replaced by a new one. so if anyone is after a TT bike :D (without the wheels)

RE: Pratfall video

Police caution and broken fingers xD

An amusing take on the situation
http://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/a-br...e-that-guy-smashes-his-face-on-a-pavement-606

I must have watched this 50 times by now, honestly.

"Put you effin mouth shut" jeeez that bit kills me off, then the fall is just incredible. Oh my.. In love with this video.

Best thing I've seen this year.
Don't know why I watched that video in the end, when I know they enrage me so much

Just be careful fellas. Whether it was hilarious or not that he fell over, there are a LOT of idiots like this guy out there.

I'll just remind you all that if a driver gets out his vehicle then you're probably about to get a punch swung at you, whether you're wearing a camera or not. I'm just stating this because it may not be obvious and I don't want ANYONE on here naively ending up in that sort of situation.

The very sad thing about this video is that he'll probably go and take it out on another cyclist somewhere else.

Agreed, quite disappointed the Police only cautioned him, at the very least I'd have considered that assault.

I'd like to think the guy learnt his lesson, in reality he's probably even angrier now at anything and everything on the road. Just hope he doesn't kill anyone before he dies of a heart attack or picks a fight with a lorry.

Not in the public interest, waste of CPS time, probably wouldn't stick at trial because the magistrates/jury would all be car drivers and would decide the cyclist brought it on himself.

Bring on Judge Dredd.

There are a lot of nice rides around here. You can anything from mega hill climbs to nice flat. Unsure how I'll cope, but only one way to find out.
Cycleways are so so... often they'll be crap conditions so on a road bike it's just not nice, so I'll use the road (which annoys the motorists but hey). I had cobbles and deep gravel today on a new route I was trying, so I'll avoid that section tomorrow. German and Swiss roads are better than the French!

Does anyone take a little (lightweight) lock when out on longer rides? I'm wondering some way to secure my bike when popping into a village shop or garage for cake / drink. Not sure how well they would fit into jersey pocket though and I can't be doing with things rattling on my frame.

If I know I'll want to lock it up for a while, I'll take a Hiplok Lite. Only weighs 1 kg, wraps around your waist, and it's bronze-secure. Easily fits around both mine and the missus' bike at the same time too :)
