I do need a new saddle... had a go on a Selle Italia L3 last night, but could do with borrowing one for a weekend or something... that seemed like it might be a comfy option.
Will *I* notice that much of a difference between RS10 and the Miche Primato option? I felt a HELL of a difference with the Racing Zeros, but they were not on my bike, they were on a Cervelo S3. I'm sure the wheels were a large part of how easy it seemed to get going, though?

Picture of the crack in the frame at the headtube. Not sure how I didn't see it before

Also, there is a noticeable bulge (I suspect from the impact) directly below this on the underside of the down tube. Frame ****ed?

Enigma could probably do a new downtube, but you're looking at several hundred for that I'd imagine, and that's before even considering if anything else may be damaged

tubular metal frames are usually repairable, it's just a question of how much you want to spend

So my vote is for "24F/28R h plus son archetype rims (black), black sapim laser/race spokes, brass nipples, Miche Primato hubs cost £285 weight 1715g"

Spend the £200 saved on tyres/saddle/shorts/beer/holiday/a camera to take pictures of your new wheels with.

As I said earlier, at that price point you (or at least I!) come straight back to the Zondas. £30 cheaper at "normal" sale price, possibly even cheaper if you don't mind waiting (they were circa £220 on offer at Merlin a week or so ago) plus ~200g lighter.

Fairly good deal with the 10% off, as the tyres are worth ~£30 each.

Saddle is a very personal thing, I've just recently changed mine from the default my Giant came with ('Giant Performance Road') to the Charge Spoon. The dimensions were very similar but as the problem with the Giant I was having (numbness/soreness after 3+ hours) was little to do with fit (more a padding issue) I've had success. I told myself for £20 it was certainly worth trying! ;)

Yes you will, depending on the age/quality (and how worn) along with the flex/give in your RS10's. Changing wheelset is one of the best things you can do to change the feel of how a bike rides. Generally better quality wheels = better quality ride!

Agree totally!

Been quoted between £60-80 by Vernon Barker to repair the frame. They said that as long as the head tube angle hasn't changed too much the bulge shouldn't be an issue. If it has, then a new tube would be the only way, which they don't do. I might just save up and get the Enigma Echo frameset I've been drooling over... Hmmm.

Zondas are £245 on wiggle. But how are the Fulcum 3s Zondas in disguise? They have different spoke patterns?

Fulcrum's range are just re-badged Campagnolo for people who want Campag wheels on a Shimano setup but are worried about clashing Campag and Shimano.:D

@Jono, agree with Roady. The charge spoon is great, I upgraded from the stock one on my Pinnacle to the spoon and love it.

I have a spoon - well the Fabric version - radius elite. I should probably have got the shallow - it's really not comfortable on my road bike - awesome on MTB though.

But but surely the fulcrums should be MORE expensive?
Or maybe they are and I can't calculate how much tyres cost.

Sold my Canyon at the weekend. Now theres an open space in the bike shed:D Thinking about getting a Pinarello Dogma 65.1 Think 2 frame and switch all my stuff from my China open frame to it. In two minds at the moment, do i really need it? no! but i want it!

What are Rapha like on sizes?
I'm a medium fit, but do you need to go up or down a size or should it be OK?

Also, how warm does merino get? I like this, not as a proper Jersey but more casual or cold short ride, but never had merino stuff before?

They're true to size imo. You can always order and return/swap if you don't like the fit.

Merino warmth depends on the weight of the wool. In summer I wear 140g and winter 190-210g. For sports I personally prefer synthetic clothing over merino or merino blends (smart wool) though.

One thought - the 'fabric' feel of the Spoon can almost feel like you 'stick' to the saddle (certainly in comparison to my Giants'). This can feel unusual at first but you will soon get used to it. As with any saddle change - it'll feel hard at first and take a few 100 miles to wear in. I've found I get a squeak in wet weather from it and certain shorts/pads! Not loud but had me puzzled the first time I heard it! :o

Depends on your sizing of 'Medium':D

Medium DHB, size down. Medium Castelli size up. Medium Sportful/Northwave around the same (I believe).

Great find that jersey, I quite fancy one at that price! I may bite the bullet on some new jerseys if I can find a good match for my Castelli Black/Blue combo shorts... (Ideally want more blue than black and a good match).
