FSA chainsets have been perfectly fine in my experience, i don't see it as ripping people off, i see it as effective cost saving. Still waiting for that full FSA groupset though:o

First ride with my new wheels (shimano RS81 c35) and it was a lovely morning, ended up doing my longest ride so far. http://www.strava.com/activities/374565678/overview Excuse the stupid max speed, crappy Strava data import from my Garmin.

Don't know if it's I'm my head but the new wheels seem to make it easier to sustain a steadier +20mph on the flats.

I'm going to get out this evening. They've put in a new roundabout outside a garden centre near me which will make for a decent halfway turning point for a ten mile TT type segment, so I'm going to give that a go.

Flat and slow - mainly to test out my new Hoy cycling pantaloons - dayum they're good. All that time in the saddle and no real discomfort whatsoever. At least not compared to the 2 and a bit hours of my last "long" ride that really was uncomfortable towards the end.
May have to invest in another pair.

This is also the furthest I've ever been on a bike by almost 20 miles.

It's slower than I'd usually go - was with a couple of others who generally average 14mph so I stuck with them. Probably for the best as I'd have been more likely to maim myself after 30 miles, otherwise :)

Rain came, lasted 10-20 mins or so, otherwise was sunny, yay!

Anyone know where I can order replacement helmet liners for a garneau diamond?
Tried all the usual places including Garneau own website & can't seem to find anyone who stocks them.

Tried riding without a liner today & the sweat just runs straight down my face & is most annoying!

Well, it's raining a bit outside. I think I passed Noah on the way home. BBC Weather, having said it was going to pour all morning, when in fact it was merely cloudy, and having utterly failed to predict the glorious afternoon sun, then said it wasn't going to rain until nine. Yeah, they were wrong again. It started at half seven and just got worse and worse and worse. Thunder, lightning, driving rain, the works. I think that now ranks as the wettest ride I've ever been on. My shoes weigh about three times as much as they should.

Here's the Strava readout for the ride. I'm quite pleased with the average speed, given the conditions. My main focus was on this stretch which works out as a fairly neat 10 mile there-and-back TT type route. I averaged 18.9mph, but that was with a couple of sets of traffic light single file roadworks in both directions and with the epic rain. I'll have to try it again sometime and see if I can get up to 20mph on there.

To be fair to the BBc weather it did say there was a vast amount of uncertainly when the front was going move up from spain.

I took the decision to get out at sunrise before any chance of rain obviously I'm on the right side of the pennines so can't comment on your weather.

Was glorious sunshine all morning for my ride
