I bought a pair of indigo Endura Humvee 3/4 shorts ~8 years ago, still going strong, I often wear the shorts without the clip-in lycra liner for casual wear (like at this very moment).

Totes agree. It's pretty annoying and I totally can't be bothered fighting with it today. Definitely going to do a flat metric...at a slow pace.... :p

You mean you're going to head out in one direction at 20mph thinking "Wow, I'm really strong today" and then turn round and find yourself doing 6mph for the return leg...

If the first part of that happens I'm going to keep riding in the same direction until I find a train station :p

He's a power rider now, it'll be more "A good 250W here, feels quick today, I'm a pro!" and "ffs 250W and I got overtaken by someone with a basket on" :D:rolleyes:

I have... 7 pairs, I think? 2 decent long ride pairs. 5 commuter / short ride pairs, comprising two fairly knackered old pairs from decathlon, a pair of low end dhb ones and 2 pairs of new ones from Evans which are good but tight across my big hips.

I've quite a lot of jerseys and base layers as well, needless to say...

Two Asos bibs. One winter, one summer and one Gore pair for summer. I definitely need to get myself some more jerseys though. I have 4 I think, but they're all pretty thin and summery.

Yes, I have much more cycling clothing than 'normal' clothes! Well, except maybe my extensive tshirt collection...

Tend do do a wash when the weathers good for drying, usually 6 pairs go in! So I'd say I normally use between 5 and 7 pairs in any given week...
Shorts:
3 'winter' - Sportful Fiandre NoRain Roubaix. XL, perfect size but only suitable for sub 10 degrees! Worn the hell out of these through autumn/winter commuting & leisure. Excellent shorts!
4 'summer best' - Castelli Evoluzione. XL. Red/2Blue/Yellow.
1 'summer second best' - Northwave Logo. XL so ok size but slightly damaged & uncomfortable.
1 'summer old' - Northwave Logo. XXL so too big. Damaged & repaired so not sold.

Thats some collection. Have you ever messed your routine up and needed to wear a dirty pair??

Wearing mine right now too. They've been through an RTC that saw me swapping a jersey for a bad road rash, and they came out of that without a scratch.

I never use the clip in liner though, I just wear either padded shorts or bib shorts underneath.

Once or twice over winter (as I've only got 3 thermal pairs), but then a 'dirty' pair will have only commuting miles from the previous day. A total of around 40 minutes of wear at fairly medium/low intensity, hardly 'dirty'!

Roady you sure an Allen Key doesn't go in either side. 8mm?

Roady I suspect it will be allen key either side to tighten/loosen.

No joy :(

Size is between 4mm and 5mm and not allen shaped, can confirm it's circular.

Wiggle must have had a Haribo delivery, ordered items monday and 3 different packages arrived today all with Haribo! :D

Sure hope my taste for the Lemon Meringue gels continues...

Think I've got something like 12 pairs of bibs. 4 for commuting 2 old for desperate and 6 nice pairs for rotation. Never wear for more than a day.

Fizik R5B arrived today. Fitted my cleats earlier *ahem* I mean, finished that report...

Fit feels pretty good, I found the sizing to be a bit off and have actually come down a half size, though my other shoes (first & only) were probably a bit on the large size so I'd say they probably measure up the same unless you have wide feet.

I've got room in there for a supportive insole if needed. I'm not sure how well the heel will be held in place on powerful upstrokes but we'll see...

(Silver sections happen to be reflective, not that I ride at night, but a nice touch.)

So RideLondon ballot just emailed to say I've been accepted for the new mini ride - RideLondon 46. I don't think I want to pay to ride 46 miles but if there is any chance I can just step on the gas off the line and accidentally 'get lost' and end up on the RideLondon 100 route I'd be tempted. I wonder how they are planning to police that.

Edit: ooh the payment page still says RideLondon 100... Should I pay and claim false advertising?

Well happy that they sent me my password reminder in plain text too...

They look awesome, then again white shoes always do before they've been worn for 10 minutes! ;)

What where you wearing before?

Nice to know they're not spending their 'reasonably priced' entrance fees on web security, oh wait...

True. But I am glad to see that there is no use of white stitching.

You can normally clean the white surfaces up okay, but if dirt gets into the stitching it can look tatty pretty quickly.

Well..ended up pushing it a little more than I intended so I was zipping along for a 19.7mph average moving speed but then..disaster..rush hour traffic. To be honest though, I was finding the wind was massively sapping my strength so I suspect I'd have slowed down quite a lot anyhow.

Most important part of the ride, took a KOM I know uv wanted :p

The whole excitement thing for waiting on my new bike has been a bit soured to be honest. My employer (NHS Trust) outsource their bike to work scheme working to a 3rd party who (in true capitalism form) charge a disproportionate "admin" fee for their service. As a result, they happily send my bike supplier a purchase order for a bike, minus their "admin" fee which, obviously, the bike shop aren't prepared to absorb and so I have to pay myself... Fortunately, I am a higher rate tax payer so even with the "admin" fee, I will still save £200 overall, but it kind of negates the whole purpose for lower rate tax earners.
