Went for a brief blast last night after work, was aiming at a local 1 mile flat segment a friend had destroyed my PR on. Some gusty headwinds so after my initial dig I knew my time wasn't going to be great, couple that with some idiot pulling out in front of me in a lorry causing me to ease up slightly... Would've been ok if I was doing 15 mph . One day I'll hit it with a tailwind...

Extended the route via a local link road and then was in a mad rush to get home (crazy shortcut) before my dinner was in the dog (only had until 6:30!) ;)

Fairly happy with my power levels with legs feeling quite fresh, will be up to ~63 miles for the week and fully prepared for my ~52 mile charity ride tomorrow.

Will be +250 miles up on pace for my yearly target. I've set several Strava goals on segments I'm going to miss due to a week away at the end of the month (Orlando) and then another week away at the end of June (mystery destination). Couple that with a house move and I can see me slipping back on miles before autumn.

If anyone is looking for a new turbo later this year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYKAbgc41ro

Might be worth keeping an eye on.

Spotted this yesterday, not sure when it will be available but I couldn't help thinking releasing/marketing a turbo trainer right at the start of the summer months is a bit of a derp? Of course people with injury or who are pushed for time might still use a turbo but can't for see everyone rushing to buy Turbo's as the sun starts shinning :p

I make it nearer to £800 but global pricing isn't linear so I'd expect it to be around the same price as other top end DDTurbo's.

Took 2 mins out of my time up Mount Zwift last night, was absolutely empty at the end of it. I cranked the resistance up on the Kicker to 90%ish to mimic gradients. Definitely had a big effect. I was coasting down after and got stuck on a 13% rolling section. Wasn't pedaling and my avatar came to a stop. It was almost impossible to get it going again!

Im interested to try some of these group rides but not really sure what the deal is.

DCR pretty much answers this in the bottom of his review mate! :)

"Up until last year, it was rare for trainer companies to announce trainer products outside of the Eurobike-Interbike timeframe (Late-Aug to Mid-September). The theory was to announce at those shows, and then make them available for the northern hemisphere trainer season (winter). But like many theories, it didn’t always work. Trainer companies (all of them) would often be late in delivering new products following Eurobike-Interbike announcements, with deliveries creeping into December or even beyond, frustrating consumers and companies alike."

Awesome! Think the max gradient on the KICKR is 15% so you weren't far off max?!

So my brother just got his rt-90 with hydraulic disc delivered..

I bought the RT-90 frameset earlier this year, I think it's PX's version of the chinese open source FR066 frame. I built mine up with Ultegra, mantel 50mm wheels, Deda 100 finishing and a fabric saddle to finish.
Think the total cost was approx £1100 as I already had the groupset. For the £449 I paid on the frame I'm really pleased with the final bike.
What is your brother using it as? It has a very low front end, certainly more race orientated than my previous pro carbon.

will be used for commuting :) he bought it from PX deal comes awesome bits are -;

full sram force
hydraulic dics brakes
carbon frame of course

he likes a racy geo so it'll suit him well! hopefully he starts doing some proper rides but right now he just wants a all around performance.

Wiggle bib short order arrived today. Kept the Castelli Evos and returned the two dhb and Santini ones. Fit on the dhb ones didn't feel great, could get the pad to sit quite right on both of the different types I ordered.

Annoyingly I ordered the completely the medium size Santini shorts for some reason and couldn't get them up my thighs, Wiggle have now sold out in large in all colours.

My wiggle order arrived too :p New chain, chainring bolts (was missing one), brake pads and bar tape. Interested to see how these lifeline pads do, mainly just wanted them for the cartridge system so I can pick up some nicer inserts in future.

Can't decide if I should put these 3TTT clip on bars (similar to spinacci bars) on my road bike. I feel like I can get lower in the drops than I can resting on the tops, although I know it's more about having a smaller frontal area. They're just going to be a bit of a faff to put on and take off if I don't like them. Might put them on my hybrid if I'm going to use that for commuting, give me some more hand positions...

Apparently this is on the way for the wife...

I'm going to sell her mountain bike mind, as she won't use it now she's loving road riding. I didn't think it would actually come, since I ordered it back in Jan.

From my reading around, if you're going to pay top whack for a smart trainer it has to be the Tacx Neo. It comes closer than anyone else to replicating actual road riding which is surely the point.

How long will it be until there's some sort of inbuilt gyroscope to a smart trainer, so when the gradient kicks up and you get out the saddle you can throw the bike around a bit :p:D
