Road Cycling

It's not uncommon to have a variance between road & turbo FTP's. About 10% here.

Gauging your power, in relation to last year, based on other club members performance is completely flawed, unless you know with absolute certainty their figures for all of your rides.
Yeah I know it's a poor gauge of ability but with 2 regular social rides, a 'fast' group and a 'slow' group with fairly similar and regular riders year after year, I used it as an example :p

Last year I was a fairly 'mid' slow group rider and got totally nailed the couple of times I ended up in the fast group. This year I'm one of the pace setters and have to reign myself in on the slow group, while able to ride with the fast group for majority of the ride, without always being 'that guy' dropping off the back they're waiting for. I wouldn't say it's huge progress but I've certainly not gone backwards! ;)
Want to send me one? :D
Sure, you can have faulty #1, or faulty #2? :p

To be honest with the support I've had they've at no point wanted a serial number or proof of purchase. More than happy to send you the 'first' one (as I think that's a V1 pod & they do a 'free exchange/upgrade' to a V2 pod)...
Well my road bike thats about 3-4 months old is messed up due to this incident > http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18754838

Now i am debating whether to commute to work via cycling now.
Get another bike, doesn't have to be anything special, just a cheap and easy 'commuter'. £300-400 new, cheaper S/H. Figure out how much money you save from fuel, lower running costs on the car, extra time saved not sat in traffic (if any) and also put a rough value on your 'fitness and well-being' (if you're considering a gym membership instead you could add this too). With all of that you can easily calculate a rough value to how much you can spend on a bike and not 'lose' money. At least until things are then resolved and you have the (extra?) funds for a more accurate full replacement bike.

I'll reply to your thread in more detail relating to the incident. I was knocked off in 2014

Bored so I just ambled into Halfords at lunchtime - after nothing in particular but I happened to look in the bargain basket and there was a Moon Comet 30 lumen rear light in there - got a £10 sticker on it! :D

I'd be very tempted to grab another Moon Comet, really like my one even though the battery is getting past it now (have to charge it every other ride) but it has yet to die on me. Maybe the low battery indicator is ultra sensitive.

I'll be much less inclined to buy another Moon copy from Aldi though. Despite the internet telling me they are exactly the same the quality isn't there. My fake Nebula has a mount that leaves it pointing at the floor after every ride (despite me cranking the screw as tight as it will go) and the centre trim is coming off

Shame to hear about the collision with the car, hopefully the dashcam driver will get dragged over the coals for leaving the scene. Accidents happen but choosing to drive off puts you pretty far down the decent human being scale. I'd quite like to commute by bike, mainly for a guaranteed 17 miles a day in the bank, but I wonder if city traffic would squeeze the fun out of cycling for me. Then again the couple of times I have ended up in city traffic I quite enjoyed a bit of maximum attack cycling to keep up with/get round city traffic safely.

Seems a bit iffy to pass the broken InRide pods around to get free updates tbh...
It is. We have no morals! Of course I'd pass the 'free' V1 pod along for 'free' (how I got it! namingnonames) ;)

Also to note, the problems I'm seeing could be a combination of the android app and Zwift. I get the impression from the support guys that nobody there runs it with android due to the poor app... But equally one of the guys said he was an android user and had 'other' problems (and even told me of an imminent kinetic app update, which may or may not have arrived - my app updated on monday yet nothing seems to have changed).

TLDR; it could be my setup and these pods are actually ok.

Yeah..It's not that I'm a perfect moral person or something and I don't have an issue with the free old pods being passed along. It's just if one purchase of a pod ends up with three people getting warranty replacements then things are starting to get a bit OTT. That's all.

Coming from the bloke hiding the fact he has thrown away stuff from his insurers? :D

See above :p

I've actually emailed them today to tell them that I've still got the frame and the wheel they want but there's no way in hell they're getting it on Friday as I just don't have the capacity to disassemble the bike atm...

I've just took the bike out for a quick razz and popped the Moon Comet onto my rucksack - even Stevie Wonder would have seen me tonight with the Comet and my usual Cateye rear. Thing is I don't have any reflectives so it's important I make up for that with decent lights.

I tend to stick to streetlit roads when it's dark though. Country lanes + dark + bike = hospital.

Entered the EVN Europe 4 x Hilly route on Watopia tonight on Cat C group. Nailed it out the start and soon thought that was a stupid idea haha
It was a pain. Mainly on my undercarriage!
When preliminary results came in, they had bumped me up to Cat A, until they factored in my metric ton weight, so final result sees me 4th in Cat C. Which I'm pleased with.

What's gutting is the guy who finished 3rd was 0.9sec ahead of me, and was 14sec behind me until 1km away and he absolutely gunned it. I tried to keep him off and he took me at the line. I very nearly puked haha

A little, but lets just say we're taking advantage of their overly generous replacement procedure rather than defrauding them please...! :D

Can't even say it's warranty as I told them my pod was over a year old and that I didn't have any proof of purchase! (which is why I've been quite surprised by the support) :o

You can get reflective stickers you could stick over some parts of your bike, your helmet and other parts without compromising the colours but making yourself reflective. I've got black ones on parts of my bag & bike, then white ones on my helmet.

Sounds like you need to work on your sprint! :D
Balls they've bumped me to 5th :o haha either way, it was a decent run out.
Guys in 3rd & 4th given the same time?! The guy who placed 4th had 3s docked because they didn't catch his finish, so it's only estimated! I'd log a complaint as his HR seems high, so does his weight and he wasn't using a smart trainer... He's also EVR and it's their race, foul play?! ;)

Unfortunately as I live in the sticks I don't have an option so I run 2 decent lights, one on solid and one on flashing.

I've got a little bit less seatpost available on the new bike so I run one of them clipped to the saddle bag which means I can bin the useless Aldi post mount.

I'm quite enjoying riding the Mustang :p It has an annoying squeak from the front wheel which I think is from the smallest of contact between the rotor and stationary pad that needs sorting this weekend and after a bit more riding I do notice the loss of a cog at the back. More so because of a bigger jump between ratios that leaves me wanting something in between. Aside from those two niggles though, yeah, it does the job. It has even bagged a couple of PR's :p

Nice one Roady  I look on that link just out of interest and end up buying a jersey. Totally your fault.

Decent, but I can't get over the fact they just look (and therefore probably are) really baggy - I like a slim fit, I don't want cloth flapping around me.

I have a gilet. It's not baggy, but then I'm Augustus Gloop. I wouldn't want one of their jackets, though.
