Road Cycling

So, emailed the insurance company on Wednesday (as a reply to their email, which they said was an okay way to get in touch). Not heard anything back. I fully expect that they'll turn up at the house today to try and pick up the bike bits. Oh well.

Sat mid pack and finished up 29th of 50 over the 1 lap of Watopia figure 8 course. 251w average over 20 and 2.65w/kg isn't great, but might have a fat burger at lunch to get some energy back and hit one tonight while the wife is out.
It's good though, it gets you pushing more when you might not be feeling it.
Well done (linky!?), sounds like it's good to have some incentive to ride on Zwift rather than anything else! :D

:D:rolleyes::D
Send a delivery/read receipt on it!? If you got a name on the email it'll probably be the person dealing with your claim so you could call them to 'check progress'. Last thing you want is the claim to get left longer than necessary because someone didn't read their email

Edit: FT: sounds like fun! Gravel bike OcUK outing? ;)

Had a pizza and cake at lunch, hopefully help me feel a bit better later but have this niggling sore throat/ cold I can't seem to shake off. Annoying.

Doing the EVR Flat 40 tonight. That should give me enough room for some pork belly and beer :D

FT that event looks like mega fun! AirBnB job?

Can't say fairer than that.

Contacted Rose bikes about my rear wheel. I had two spokes go and twice had to get local shop to retension/replace spokes. I wrote to Rosebikes about it saying I was disappointed that it was costing me replacement spokes/labour etc.

Wheels (DT Swiss) came with bike 14 months ago. They asked for me to return it to them at their cost so they could look at it, which I did, 15 days later - wheel has been returned, full new spokes, all re-tensioned, new tubeless ready rim tape included on wheel etc. All at zero cost......

Fantastic service and a lot of UK based BIG bike brands wouldn't have bothered as they would have claimed it was "wear and tear" etc.

Very impressed.

FT: Evans' seem to do a range of sportives some of which are semi-offroad/gravel/adventure types: https://www.evanscycles.com/ride-it...2_1477665342_f39f986f048252b54c5c2875ce938b88

Good stuff, fuelling is very important! My 'easy' week, to shake some early flu/lurgy symptoms (following my even easier one last week after accident) will be followed tonight with Pizza and Cider fuelling as I'm intending to ride to my parents tomorrow on a fairly random route to hit a few segments I've had my eye (and goals set) on. Other half isn't working tomorrow morning so no club ride for me...

Missed/didn't ride a couple of them earlier in the year when staying with my parents between house moves
https://www.strava.com/segments/2170471 - Easy on road tyres. Fingers crossed for KOM.
https://www.strava.com/segments/7466821 - Probably won't unless feeling powerful and the sun is out to be 100% sure road surface is good. Ideally I'll need to refit my Roubaix for it (gravel tyres my Diverge came with).
Can't say fairer than that.
Fantastic service! I've found them a pleasure to deal with before, same with SKS in Germany.

Totally unrelated note; those who remember me moaning about my 810 - I rolled firmware back to 5.00 (from 5.10) and so far so good. Auto-sync doesn't tend to work 75% of the time, but at least it doesn't freeze 99% of the time when sync'ing now!

Was such an easy process to do I'm utterly kicking myself I lived with the 810 playing up (and getting gradually worse) for ~18 months!

Semi related. Goals.

On the topic of YTD, mostly influenced by lifting less and cycling more :p joined the club in June/July I think doubling my weekly mileage though not particularly hilly rides.

So tonight I thought I'd try to finish off my Di2.....

Got about 45 minutes in trying to thread the cables through the aero handlebar, got it all plugged together then went to put the actual brakes into the bars. Mmm these won't fit....

numerous swear words were cursed as I realised that there was another hole in the handlebar. Eventually got it in and then the front brake sorted, and got the battery etc in the downtube, but needed some food. Aero integrated bikes can do one!
