Road Cycling

Noticed some good prices on www.alpinetrek.co.uk so picked up a couple of base layers & another pair of Sportful fiandre norain (winter) shorts, some sportful/castelli jerseys at £25/30.

Not had much time for a complete look, yet.

Edit: Have a good weekend all!

Sigh. 30 mins stuck on a crowded bus and I'm only half way home. Would've been home 10-15 mins ago on my bike.

Cannot wait to get back to cycle commuting.

Evening all

I noticed the latest Edge 520 update has something to do with being able to configure the time ahead/behind and distance remaining on live. Is this the strava live segments? I can't seem to find an option to change it.

No idea re. the above.

Glad I made it home before it was properly dark tonight. Last few nights I've been like target practice for cars.

Anyone seen the latest Zipp 454s?

All kinds of awesome, but jesus what a price.

I was going to say something else, but buggered if I can remember now.

The mate who also bought a flux last night was on his Ironman (think that's what he has now) today and it literally blew up. Bang, smoke, fire. Which is nice.

My headset parts are on the way from Canyon, got an email today.

What the actual fudge.

BishBashBosh frame only supports 140mm rotor on the rear. PX website states 160mm so obviously it was a bit of a surprise when I tried to put my wheel on...

Going to have to ring them tomorrow about it. Sigh.

Hopefully Evans stock an adaptor so I can limp there on one brake tomorrow morning.

i can recommend the Ulvang socks being sold as seconds on the famous auction site. £8.50 for 6 pairs too

How do these compare to what I might find in Sports Direct tomorrow? Have usually just worn Nike sports socks, doubling up when temperatures drop.

Have the DhB neoprene overshoes to try for tomorrows ride, felt a minor improvement on the turbo in the week. Going to try and brave my usual 70 miles though it's forecast to be 8 degrees and I'm not sure if I can manage 4 hours out in it, though I will be wrapped up to buggery and likely be fine :o

Would be lying if I said I wasn't strongly concerned about my digits suffering some sort of permanent damage but thinking about it I've ridden in colder temperatures with poorer preparation (though not as long) and they've survived :p

Guessing with the use of an adaptor, nothing left in the box?

Nope...was pretty careful to grab everything out of that and keep it to one side.

Pretty annoying all in all. Got my gears sorted though. Need to ruin the look of it with mudguards, sort out the general fit and do a slap-dash job of adding bar tape next.

I don't know how they might compare to sports direct stuff, pretty well i'd imagine, they're at least 33% merino, up to 66% (you get an assortment)

I have a pair put aside for slumping round the house, because my feet are always really cold. Wearing them now and my feet which are normally the coldest part of me are a little bit hot.....

Cheers :)

I realised earlier that I'd also forgotten to order the recessed mudguard adaptor bolt things for the rears so...that's also a thing.

Given that the physio and consultant advice is to leave riding a bit longer I may end up seeing the two sets of events as a sign :/

I think I discovered my stupidity last night. Earlier on in the week I was speaking to one of the guys in the office about my turbo sessions and how the toe clip pedals didn't allow my foot to sit as well as my clip pedals. But I'd previously not been able to fit my clip pedals onto the bike and assumed I'd threaded the connection or something. The guy said maybe I had them the wrong way round when I was working on my bike upside down.....left was right and right was left. Tried putting the pedals on last night and quelle surprise they fitted ffs!

Looks awesome SoliD :)

Nowhere local has the adaptor I need so looks like my riding plans this weekend are scuppered. Back to the turbo :/

...though I suppose it will make the physio and consultant happy when I tell them I resisted riding outside.
