Well thats it,its official, Ive just been elected as the secretary of the North Cheshire Clarion at the AGM! Pretty excited to become part of this as we are one of the bigger clubs of the north west, ranked pretty highly in racing of the north west, behind only Manc Wheelers and Lakes Cycling club (and various dedicated racing teams) we are 7th best in north west, 3rd if you dont count the dedicated racing teams. Always well represented across ALL age ranges at all manner of events in the nw. We also organise 2 audaxes per year and have just run the Stadt Moers CX event with over 300 riders attending.
Looking forwards to getting involved, and a new website is immenent too which I think is a cut above 99% of all cycle clubs websites, all from the voluntary efforts of one member.
Nope, 25 according to 220-age
By same logic I'm 14.
Awesome news. The ride I did with NCC was well organised and filled with nice, friendly types. Whenever I've ran into members they've always been great too.
If I lived closer I'd definitely ride regularly with you guys - though maybe not now they've started letting the riff-raff into the exec![]()
Goodluck with puberty!By same logic I'm 14.
I would always try the Fit repair tool first to be sure there is no corruption within your file, after that there's lots of tools on here as I'm assume it's a .fit much the same way as a ride from an Edge? I imagine the 'Corrupt time fixer' will be the one to use.Anyone know how I can recalibrate a strava run from when I paused my watch?
Well done & congrats!Well thats it,its official, Ive just been elected as the secretary of the North Cheshire Clarion at the AGM!
I'm 27 according to that totally scientific method. omg...now I'm going to have to go through hitting 30 again![]()
^ I expect strava works for run in a similar fashion to ride segments. In that you'll have a moving time. Stops people glitching/being silly to acquire KOM's/leaderboard rankings.
220-age is outdated (and retarded) for determining MHR.
Snatch up those P1's if sub £500. DC Rainmaker is the man and says he would buy those of the pedal based systems right now. I'd take the punt even more so if you are buying from someone you know/trust?
2-3 degree's? Get outside!

Congratulations!
Is North Cheshire Clarion the group that meets at the pub in Winnick? If so, I started on a ride at St Helens CRC but, everyone was way too quick for me and NCC is a smidge closer to me anyway. I may come in the new year for a ride if there is a gentlier pace on offering?
Yeah that's the one. We never "market" ourselves as a racing club (though we do have a lot of members who do race), more a sports-social club.
We have regular weekend rides on both Saturday and Sunday mornings, some start from the Swan at Winwick, some start from The Spires at Stretton (south of Warrington). They vary in distance, 50 - 100 miles, most nearer to 50 miles and the pace will be fine for everyone so long as you are not a complete newbie, which it sounds like you aren't.
For potential new members we ask that you complete at least one "intro" ride. These are always a relaxed pace and usually around 40-50 km (generally non-stop). They are to get new riders used to group riding and our calls. We never leave riders behind on any of our group rides. If somebody is struggling we put them in the middle of the bunch and skip their turns on the front.
Just drop me a line, either here, or via the NCC website and I can book you onto a ride and let you know where the ride is starting. You don't have to join straight away either, you can go along to a couple of rides without an obligation to join. Obviously after that you would be expected to join then you would get access to the forums.
If you were after a faster pace then we offer that too - just make sure you join the "fast" group at the start of rides. Plenty of ad-hoc rides organised on our forum too.
Oh and tl58 on this forum is an NCC'er!

Do you do rides in or around London?
