Would you buy 19mm internal rim wheels for a frame that is limited to 25c tyres? Superstar have ARC rim brake wheels for £140 in their 30% payday promo code sale until tomorrow night.

British Cycling Ride bronze membership for £16 from Evans, or pay £43 for the silver membership and get the extras like third party liability insurance?

could be touch and go, you may find some tyres work and some dont, you may even need a 23. alternately it may be perfect.

Depends what your 'limit' is, if it's caliper clearance then you can get around it with longer reach calipers or just undoing the brake cable every time. If the limit is chainstay/brake bridge/fork clearance then you may make things worse (wider) or even better (tyre stretched outwards reducing clearance needed)...

Drug update:

I'm now officially away with the fairies - diazepam and codeine for 3 days. I'm living the dream, mind is just completely numb & clear of life's usual clutter.

I've been in work since 8am and tbh I'm in no danger of doing anything of an substance today.

So I'm essentially going to get paid today for surfing bike bargains, wiggle, CRC, and the cycle chat & bike radar forums. Any other suggestions? I'm all ears.

My back is still ****** to be honest, I should go back and see the docs again, but I was out for 3 weeks on tramadol and codeine. I was off my trolley! I feel for you...

Was that the Genesis? Did it do many miles before needing a new BB?
3,335 miles, mostly commuting, in all weathers. Not bad for the sort of cheap fsa bb they put in bikes from stock. I've got a shimano sealed one now. I'm limited a bit by what I can get in square taper, but I may be able to get something by token or hope st some point.

The shimano UN55 will last aaaaaages

i had a UN71 that was made in 1992 and is still going strong with a friend of mine, having been in everything from DH mountain bikes to tourers.

Yeah, it's a un55 one that I've ordered. I've just had a look and hope don't do square taper and token don't do one with the right spindle length, so shimano it is.

Shimano square taper were famously long-lasting and brilliant. Conspiracy theorists will tell you that's why they got rid of them - not making enough on replacements.

I remember you having trouble with a knee but I hadn't realised you bust your back. :( Get physio man.

I have been completely spaced out all day. My daughter needs help with maths homework tonight and frankly she's going to be better off asking our Labrador. My mind is shot to ****.

The Aeroad is giving me about 2-3mph over my Allez at that distance and power (24 miles and 256w)
One of the KOM's was into a 7 mile headwind :D

Doing 45mph through the cross-wind hedge gaps got my heart rate pulsing :p

Cheque received today for my accident. £200 for phone repair and helmet. Got myself a giro savant previous model for 30quid today. That'll do for riding to work. Will keep an eye out for specialiZed trade in deal and get a prevail if I can.

First Bundy of the year for me as I skipped Tuesday due to the weather.

Still not a massive bunch as a lot of folks can't make the 6.30pm start.

Kept out the wind until we got to the climb, went up at comfortably compared to my previous first attempts, got back onto the bunch and then did a shift with two strong as **** guys from Carluke to Newmains.

Did a few turns and then just couldn't keep up with my boss when we were taking shots trying to chase down one guy off the front.

All in all a good first one I'd say.

This weather!!! Lovely and warm all day yesterday, apart from the morning when it was wet, so winter bike.

Today......chucking it down now despite being dry until 6am, and forecast for the rest of the day? Lovely, warm and dry.

Might drive it today as I'm fed up, save my legs for tomorrow.
