Got a small hole in my bibshorts where its been rubbing against the seat.
Anyone know of a good way to seal it? Ideally some sort of patch that I can stick on top.

not heard of the "phtochromic" lens before, not something ive heard in the photography world though
I have them on my Ruddy's. They work verywell.
Clear at night, dark in the sun. They are just 'transistion' lenses that you would have seen on TV adverts some years ago.

Find a local seamstress and get a proper job done.

Or if they're quality bibs from a reputable brand they might offer a repair or replacement service if they aren't that old? Are they heavily used or a well worn pair? ;) If the latter it sounds like a good excuse to shell out on more summer gear :D

sorry to hear that Merlin, was this a bike accident ?

ive been itching for 2 years, nearly 3 !
things are chaining this year, im switching to get my injection done privately now, rather than miss another summer ! so fingers crossed ill be back on the bike (be it slow pace and a couple of miles) within the next 4 weeks :)

Damn, what happened to you?!

This is really embarrassingly un-dramatic but I honestly have absolutely no clue how I did it. Over the course of a couple of days I'd be waking up feeling a bit sore and stiff around my lower back and right hand side of my hip, tried to stretch it out - it got worse, tried to stretch it out even more - it got even worse, went to see a physio and within 24 hours I could hardly walk. Next thing I'm on codeine and diazepam.

I wouldn't mind so much if I knew what I'd actually done!

winter/commuter needs new tyres, so i'm giving the Wiggle Lifeline Armour prime a whirl. Seem to get good reviews.

finally got these from my neighbour yesterday. Popped them on, got 17 miles on. They feel pretty nice, although it's been a long time since I had to trim "hairs" off a tyre

Just a heads up to people... Wiggle have upped their loyalty discount to 17% for Platinum customers (I saw someone mention if they wiggle normally up their discounts around this time)

Now if only they had the element bolt in stock...

Great news! Steady does it! :D

I've used a 'Pronty' patch on some damaged shorts before where my shorts had caught on the inner thigh on my seatclamp when my saddle had graduallyslipped backwards. It worked as well as can be expected but in a high friction/traffic area like that the patch (as it not as elastic as the material around it) will start to peel at the edges.

This. Although if it's in a contact place the last thing you want is more stitching to aggravate the idea as it'll cause pain/rubbing/sores. Sometimes you're better selling them off on the 'bay (to someone who thinks they can repair) and buying new/replacements... Depends on the age and brand what they're worth. I've seen Castelli shorts selling for near Wiggle sale prices & Rapha always sell for crazy prices.

Great shout, thanks! :)

i was going to say, sounds like what ive got, but then you said about the tablets your on (tried those)
mine is wear and tear in my right side "sacroiliac joint" (confirmed by an MRI) and "inflammation" in the joint
which seems to effect my hip a lot, i cant walk or cycle long distances

i sometimes walk with a limp

My overwhelming concern with the club run numbers is that it looks suspiciously like a race number and the last thing cyclists needs is more grief from motorists for treating the road "like we're in the bloody Tour de France". It also looks a bit try hard, if you want to enter a race then do it...

That said, a bike marker of some sort is not a bad idea for encouraging people to join but I would suggest a subtle seattube decal or something similar. Would still be obvious on a club run who is and isn't a member.
Isn't that what club jerseys are for?

If this is true then I should probably remove the KickR from my wishlist...

Jesus wept my spend with Wiggle in the last 365, let alone my bicycle related spend this month... Speedmax + upgrades, Bambino Pro, Speedsuit, KickR. #bachelor #foreveralone

I've been good
Haydn, you're a platinum customer.
Your spend in the last 365 days is: £2,562.72.

That's around 30% lower than the last couple of years! ELEMNT & Powertap C1 is in there ;)

Dug out my Sidi's for this mornings commute dusting them off for the weekend. Comfort is still great, glad my wearing the my Giro's hasn't done anything to change my feet as the feeling is still very similar between the two sets. I'd forgotten how stiff they feel, with some barely worn cleats my feet feel super powerful! :D

Cleaned & greased my headset & rear mech hanger last night to eliminate them from my click diagnosis. No change. Found information where the BB used on my Diverge comp carbon is very similar to this one from Praxis (if not exactly the same). NDS of it being 'press-fit' (and is labelled as such) with the DS kinda being threaded by screwing into it. The fitting used looks very similar to an external BB cup so I wrongly thought I had a spanner which would fit. NOPE!

Praxis have their own proprietary sizing/cups and you need to buy the tool to install/remove (or tighten in my case). Most of the usual places either don't carry them or are out of stock, but I've found these so may order them for future use. Just hoping my LBS have the tool (and time) for tomorrow after the club ride! :o

EDIT: Found that Drover Cycles I rode past last weekend stock Praxis, have emailed them to ask if they have the tool as I may end up riding over them to get one if my LBS don't have one or the time to sort it...
