I'm tempted to switch all my current components Di2 etc to a new carbon frame. Just fancy a change of frame from my existing Rose.

Any thoughts on a frame, Di2 compatible - Budget say around £1000/£1500?

No actual need to do it but got some funds burning a hole in my pocket and i fancy a change.

I went for a run this evening. First time I've been for a run that didn't involve a PE teacher shouting at me. I did just over a mile. Pace of 9:35 which is likely abysmal, but even just going steady for that distance felt like a huge achievement given I've never tried before. I get the feeling I'll have sore knees tomorrow. I'll have to give it another go sometime, see if I can build up to 5k over the summer or something.

Rule 42 //

A bike race shall never be preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run.

If it’s preceded with a swim and/or followed by a run, it is not called a bike race, it is called duathlon or a triathlon. Neither of which is a bike race. Also keep in mind that one should only swim in order to prevent drowning, and should only run if being chased. And even then, one should only run fast enough to prevent capture. ;)

Went out last night with Richie. Was quite conscious of all the food & beer I'd eaten & drunk while away so dragged him on a longer loop than normal and spent 80% of the ride on the front. There were nearly constant headwinds so I plugged away holding cadence and effort levels, having to rein myself in on climbs for him to keep in touch. He was ok sat on my wheel ~20/21mph but anything over that he was starting to blow, then any climbs he'd generally be climbing at around 200-220W so I tried to match pace - which I found really hard! I found it easier to climb at 250-300W and then slow to wait for him. Think it was just my gearing at that cadence/pace/effort not being great so found it 'easier' to ride faster/harder. Still, a good 26 miles done with my commuting this week (~36) and a group ride (~40) on Saturday I'll be back on track mileage wise.

I may also fit in a turbo session for some intensity to work some of this excess weight off (77.7kg this morning, 78.6kg Tuesday & 75.8kg before holiday last week!).

Yeah, no luck unfortunately with my extensive searching, put paid to my new colour scheme I had in mind for the Ridley.
Rubbish. Found it quite strange when I looked, the Jagwire kits the blue and green are both quite light pastel colours. Although it does explain why teams like Cannondale & Tinkoff have Black cables...

Totally unrelated, I came across someone doing a case mod from 2012/13 in celebration of Team Sky, quite a cool build! :)

Requirements? Aero/Light/preferred colours?

Before anyone looks at my posting history though I must admit to taking part in triathlons myself. :p

Rules are to be broken.

Anyone with a selection of arm warmers have any recommendations for a 'mid' kinda warmer? Any observations over length as well, all warmers I've tried tend to be a little long on me.

I'm wearing Sportful NoRain and finding them too thick for higher intensity/warmer riding, my others are DHB Regulate which are only screens and not quite thick enough.

Ha. This can be hard to match someone else's pace on a hill. Much easier often to just plod along at your pace when it gets steep. I was trying to hang behind a mate to get some video footage up hill 14 the other day but in the end I said screw it this is hurting my legs too much and upped the cadence to get to the top.

See how you find the Aeron UV Arm Sleeve, they come up a little on the shorter side I've found but might be too thin for what you're after. They keep the wind chill down and enough warmth in on cold starts at the upper end of single degrees to low double digits and cloudy.

Edit:

Continuing the Vulpine saga, Mango have bought them out.

Something Merino usually work well in both cooler and warmer temps. To be honest when it is that warm I'll put them on to warm up with and then whack them off, if not I'd be wearing long sleeves anyway.

Picked up my new bike (Emonda S5) earlier this week but I've only ridden it around 40 foot so far, and I have a track session tonight. Not sure whether to go with the Giant just for tonight, or just jump in feet first and take the Emonda, I could probably iron out any fitment issues during water breaks. I was hoping to get a few miles in on the Trek just to get comfortable with it but my wife has been poorly so there's just not been the time.

I really need to sell the Giant to fill some of the financial hole the Trek has just created, but it's just so damn comfy and easy to ride I'm half wondering whether to keep it as a commuter/winter bike.

What tools do I need to service spd pedals? The pedals on my commuter are creaking like hell so I think it's time to take them to bits and regrease them.

Buy a whole new bike of a type you don't own yet... TT, cross, mtb, bmx, recumbent, tandem, tricycle, balance...
