Saw one of the local "pro" riders near me (who has been caught in the past setting Strava KOMs while drafting behind a van!) went out for a purposeful circuit in last nights wind taking some 1-2 minutes off 10 minute segments

That said, I was wishing I was doing the same while walking down the coastal path

Disc will be fine, just the front that may be a problem even for a little pipsqueak like you

Agreed, or at least 90% of the time it's a head/cross wind. Less than 3% of the remaining are tailwinds.

The frame looks just like the BMC Team Machine. I prefer the flat swooping top tube look of the current model.

Eurgh.

So first ride on the bike in circa ten days. Felt really strong coming out of the estate and then my saddle drops down to the frame. Doh!

Second Doh moment! Start to put a bit more power down to climb up a little kick in the road. Hear a large clunk and then my gears are screaming at me. Rode for another mile till I decided to investigate. Turns out my rear wheel had come off and my dropouts where sitting on the skewers. I imagine I've probably caused some severe damage.

Oh well!

7xxx - Dura ace 7700, 7800, 7900 > 9000
6xxx - Ultegra 6700, 6800 > 8000
5xxx - 105 5600, 5700, 5800
4xxx - Tiagra 4500 , 4600, 4700
3xxx - Sora 3400, 3500 > 3000

So 7800 has been used before. Don't see the logic in the new ones as the groups in between will go to a number they haven't used before.

Could shimano be moving to have it all numbered including mtb groupset with 7 being xtr perhaps? And the numbers in between being used for xt etc.
