Anyone had any trouble with Boa lacing systems?

One of them on my S-Works 6 shoes doesn't click anymore. It tightens, and was fine on the ride in this morning, didn't come loose. But when tightening, it freely

Good EVR Zwift race last night. Quite a few more strong riders than the last couple of weeks so quite tough & quick! Hopefully has got me back on track this week.

Sounds like the mechanism is damaged, see if there's much grit & dirt you can clean out of it. One of the dials on my Sidi Kaos is damaged from a crash and doesn't spin that freely, you can replace them on some shoes.
PedalCover won't quote me because of a silly little stream about 60 meters away down a 15ft bank :o need to write to the EA because if that is a flood-risk then we are all doomed...
You can sometimes dispute these, as they're usually done looking at distance and not elevation. But you'll find if someone within a certain radius of your property has claimed for 'flood damage' within X number of years then you're classed as 'at flood risk'.

We used to live in a 3rd floor flat which was a 'flood risk'. We where told if flood waters restricted access to the building, even though our property wasn't actually flooded then it classed as 'at risk'. When I pointed out that the raised ground it was on, if things flooded then most of Hereford would be under water, including the Cathedral which has never flooded since being built in the 10th century. Still didn't get away with it, just a slight reduction in the quoted premium.

One of mine died. I took it back to the shop where I bought it and they fixed it somehow.

My S-Works shoes are okay - not really had them long enough to test them fully though [2k miles]
My other Spesh shoes [Expert] with the older style Boa system are going well after 3 years riding.

There's a tiny torx screw on the top of it. I daren't touch it in case it springs apart and I can't put the bugger back together again!

Will do some research later.

Oddly enough, after the ride in, it is clicking again (not as 'strong' as it once was), so might just be dirt.

So I saw a bike while out the other day, it was like the Gulf racing colours, baby blue and orange and I can't remember what it was but it was sexy as. I tried google but my search is coming back with nothing. Either I'm an idiot (I am an idiot) or I can't work it out... anyone know? I thought it was a trek but might be wrong.

Trek do some custom colours (Project One) so could be anything... Pretty sure I've seen what you describe but can't find it very easily... This Madone turned up in a google search which I hadn't seen but I think custom coloured. This Domane SL8 2017 also comes up. Sure it wasn't a MTB? :P (am sure I've seen a Trek road bike in the same colours though...)

This has launched, just about it seems after a slight delay, keen to get my hands on one as a back up for the P1's when the bearing replacement takes place. Looks like a mass release before Christmas is their aim.

Previous details.
Very interesting! Considering I've been thinking of PWM options for bike #2 (my primary PWM - Powertap C1 chainrings, are not easily compatible/swappable).

It's available on their 'Pathfinder' programme to purchase, just awaiting details. There's a closed forum so I imagine it's kind of like a testing platform for feedback but not subsidised or discounted in any way.

I don't have any urgency for it but I'm curious as the module itself is very similar to those found on Kickstarter projects and the 4iii and Stages but just at a more affordable price.

They've been testing against SRM, Quark and other PM's with plenty of data from the race team they sponsor. They posted on the UKTT Forum and delayed the release from May as they were 100% satisfied with the product and wanted to fully iron it out. A little frustrating but equally reassuring.

It's priced so that you buy one for each bike, as it's not transferable, but if you're using the same length cranks and BB's (Hollowtech 2 for example) swapping a chainset between bikes isn't too much more hassle than a pedal based option nor is switching rings if you use different gearing on the same groupset. So that is an available option if cash is tight. If swapping regularly rather than from a summer to winter bike I'd stump for pedals but that's just me.

(I have DA 9000 chainsets on both bikes one in 170mm with compact rings and the other 172.5mm on my TT rig with a mid-compact.)

Exactly it. I went crank/chainring based as I'm technically a '1 bike' kinda guy, but my thinking next year to get into TT'ing is making me think I might actually be more of a '2 bike' kinda guy lol (doh!) ;)

Still my primary C1 (£630) with a secondary (£400 - stages/other unit) still doesn't work out stupidly overpriced compared to the still escalated prices of the P1 (£900). The Vector 2 (£750) which maybe makes things a little more so, but still...!

To be honest at that price it comes in far cheaper than any of the other worthwhile 'cheap' alternatives - Vector 2S, P1S, Stages, 4iiii. At that price it pretty much steals that whole market from under some big names so I'd expect some huge price slashes from them, unless the 'variable' accuracy ('maximum 1% accuracy per component') is actually cumulative and in real world testing it ends up as something actually quite poor like 8-10% accuracy (unlikely but still unknown)!? :o

Bring on a DCR review! ;)

ROFL one of the comments on that road.cc article:
Forget about the container neeed to put 10 Kg in, worry more about how many noodle-armed cyclists are going to deal with manhandling that enormous weight.

Eh? C1's + a £400 crank based equivalent works out £130-£280 more expensive than a single set of a dual sided pedal based PM  even more for a single sided pedal system...

I'm optimistic the accuracy & consistency is acceptable. Even if it weren't accurate but consistent you'd only need to know how far adrift is is and compensate for ePeen, if that way inclined, and weight management  For the saving it's an acceptable compromise, if it comes to that, in my eyes, which it probably won't :p

Something by Holdsworth? They do bikes in blue and orange. Check the Planet X website.

Nah, the blue was lighter and more pastel and the orange wasn't as vibrant. The name of the make was orange and the rest blue.

I've decided I am going to build up a bike for the trainer. Seen a decent deal on a nice 6800 groupset and a nice chinese carbon frame I like on eBay. I have a set of Mavic wheels spare here, just then need saddle and stem/bars, which I've seen online as well. Piece of cake :P
