you're probably better off looking for a painter locally, although Argos cycles in Bristol do Carbon.

I was quoted silly money for a basic carbon respray. Alu ftw ;)

OT: anyone messed around with waxed chains as opposed to oil based lube?

I've been using Juice Lubes Chain Wax (sold it by a LBS in my n00bness 2 years ago and figured I may as well use it up). I prefer it to dry lube from a cleaning perspective, it's quicker & less work and not different in application either.

The chain seems to stay cleaner for longer and even when riding in the wet it never seems to look as bad a state vs other lubes.

I've not gone to the length that some do with making their own wax concoctions and soaking overnight etc.

I've started doing just that, but putting it in an ultrasonic bath. Not sure why I didn't do it sooner. So much better than traditional lubes:

Write up above if anyone is interested.

As FT says I tried paraffin waxing my chain but it's way too much faff for me when the difference between waxing and using Rock n Roll Gold is apparently negligible. I now follow the same cleaning routine - runs in an ultrasonic bath with solvent until chain is clean - but apply that lube instead for my TT bike. I use the Rock n Roll Extreme lube for my road bike. Both give excellent results and stay clean. The Extreme is a little more hardwearing but still needs reapplying after particularly wet rides.

I think either the above or wax is a massive improvement over traditional lubes though.

Just apply like any other lube & almost immediately ride? I thought you had to get the chain extra clean first & leave to soak/set overnight? I'm still using Wet here but only really so I have to apply once a week regardless of conditions. I still tend to wipe down twice a week or so & my poor frame doesn't seem to get cleaned more than once a month at the moment! :o

^^^ That looks like the one! Looks mint. Mystery solved... :p
I'm quite liking the supreme number of colour options and combinations you can have through Project One. Just a shame it's a Trek really! Those price tags too! An extra £479 just for matt/metallic paint over normal paint! :o

Omg, guy on my Strava from RPR did 44:27 up L'Alpe.

He now ranks up with the Pros at 87/59200.
Mega climbing! Rough/estimated power?

Dudes - is the Cycle to work scheme still a half decent saving on buying a new bike? I bought a road bike way back in 2008 through it at work and it saved me a good sized chunk of cash. Our work did away with the Cyclescheme a couple of years later but this month they have re-introduced it as part of a range of employee benefits via Edenred. However a few roadies I know have told me the scheme isn't as good as it used to be. Is it worth trying or would I be better just looking at a zero percent finance deal somewhere? Want to upgrade my trusty Cube Acid hardtail to a full suspension bike and although I'm aware that there is a 'cap' of £1k maximum spend on the scheme there is the possibility of me being able to top up anything over the grand mark with my own cash. Thoughts?

Just trying to make sure when I choose my bikes they're correct for me, due to having slight knee pain on/off for a month now. I'm 5'9 but read about having the leg measurements correct from bend? Is bike for calculator a good site to do it?

Depends where the pain is.

If you have someone to help you, I know a few people who've used this;

Am I allowed back in here yet?

I smashed it on a the local 10 which is actually a 9.5 TT due to road works at the moment. Hilly course and a bit of wind tonight but happy with 24.06 compared to my previous 26.40 on the full 10 course.

Beat a few guys on TT bikes which is always good, think the fastest of the night was a guy who only does TT on his P2 was a minute faster going by strava.

Great ride man. I assume Mark was the other rider? It's a sickener when you do a great ride like that and then he shows up! :D

I think my best was about 26:10 on the full 10 mile course a couple of years back before i had to give it up, but same thing happened. He rocked up and ripped it up.

Not poked my head in here for a while... Since moving to a job 12 miles from instead of 25, I've barely been bothered to cycle in and at least get moving that way. Logic doesn't compute!

Help me motivate myself to get back on the bike!
