Road Cycling

I'm ignoring the weather forecasts till Saturday morning because its largely guesswork till we get up to the 24hr point.
Low pressure = bad weather :(

I guarantee if the ride was Saturday then the forecasted Sunday weather would be then. Everytime I have had good ride planned the weather is crap on that day, with all other days blissful sun and low wind.

The one in April was forecast horrible weather but actually two hours in it dried up nicely.

Things change. You've made me look at accuweather now (it offers a more upbeat prediction btw).

Sound... Erm... Noisy?! SKS guards? You can get replacement parts pretty easily and often for free by contacting them directly. I've had clips, 2 stays and even a whole new guard from them without paying a penny! Their customer service is incredible! German efficiency! :)

Glad you're having a great time, pictures look superb! Not quite sure why I'd lost you on Strava so sent you a req! (understand if you don't wanna follow me due to my commutes lol). Hope your buddy heals up and you finish strong on Monday. Many more touch PR's to tackle? ;)

Ooh will drop them a mail as one of my holders has broken and I've gaffer taped it up.

Went out on the cx bike tonight. Was lashing it down at 3 and thought I'd sack it off but sun came out gloriously. Managed 30ish miles. Altho my laziness to change my cassette hurt a bit after 12miles when I had covered 1100 ft already on a 38x25 as my easiest gear. Fine for the road not so fun on short kickers up some trails.

What are people's current recommendations for the C2W scheme options?

I'm after something a bit more suited to the European commuting I'm faced with, the Propel got a hammering last night!

Planet X as always have some good value options, I'm after something CX/Gravel focused as the roads around here are a nightmare in places.

That's exactly what we're doing. It's going to be a huge day!
Goodluck!

PX do a 'London Road' which is very well regarded for the money, unsure on current availability and you're probably better looking a few weeks/months after Eurobike for the real bargains. Not just at PX too!

New Garmin Vector 3's look superb - https://roadcyclinguk.com/gear/gear...30-gps-bike-computer.html#0jvHcBzG2yQ1KKFD.97

No more ugly/annoying/delicate pods, pedals look very well designed and much smaller profile than the others (BePro & P1) now. Solid looking metal battery doors/covers! They also look suspiciously like SPD-SL and not Look KEO compatible now too? @SoliD had a good look?

Purely Keo now not SPD SL - I will be giving a miss, not got any issues with my Vector 2s whatsoever.

Not sure I see the reason to move from the Propel to a mid spec bike to be honest. Just let a little air out of the tyres.

Take a look at my last Strava entry, far from road bike surfacing and this is just the start of the bad weather over here!

I did indeed own a PX but sold it before re-locating (wasn't planned).

Love the look of the Surly's/Genesis steel frame bikes.

Ah right..so you're riding canal towpaths and such.

Surly Straggler is a nice bike but heavy. Genesis is a bit lighter usually. I'd probably go Genesis of the two just because I prefer bikes to be a little nippier.

A friend has just ordered a PlanetX Ti bike. Might be worth considering...

edit: though they got the pro road, which is crazy light.

Croix de Fer for the win.
