Road Cycling

The main factor! Great to hear communication is good, can only hope that continues upon release.

I annoyingly missed a set of P1's (dual not P1S) over the weekend on the 'bay which went for <£470, most seem to sell for £600 (which I can't justify)! :o

Yanto Barker is a big wearer of them and tend to see the brand/label lots of times on TV, mostly worn by presenters?

But correct, far too expensive for a fairly new brand. They need to build a premium price, not just expect it! :(

Those all Lance's race winning bikes? Didn't know he rode discs!

Only 10 tubes? Doesn't sound many!

2 of his tdf bikes including the lightweight with the down tube shifter. The disc one is for cx can't remember the year but it was surprisingly old.

I would have got more my club mates wanted 10 but I could only get 8

Saw this on a Wiggle wheelset review..
ROFL that is pretty brilliant, might adapt that excuse to use with the other half "I need new wheels as I can't catch other people on downhills even with all the cake I eat..."

Loads of options for that price. Have a look at Canyon's Endurance CF SL range.

Their Disc 8.0 is carbon and has full Ultegra with discs, DT Swiss wheels, 28mm GP4000S II tyres, weighs 7.6kg and is £2,349 plus shipping.

Comfort orientated geometry, so high stack to reach ratio. Worth a look, at least.

Good shout and a great spec for the price, full Ultegra! Wheels are not the lightest for the price (1800g without tyres & tubes) but are a solid DT entry level set. I paid £1875 for my discounted Diverge, I'm not convinced it would've been the best buy at the RRP of £2500.

Unsure about guard mount points on the Endurance though? Shame the paint scheme (non-black) option is pretty rubbish looking compared how awesome the CF SLX looks in red! :(

Check your 'Form' after a weeks cycling holiday  think I hit about 1200 TSS in Majorca and subsequently hit a few power PR's out there too but it soon catches up with you :p Having tapered in advance I moved from +26 to -45 with 6 days riding. (Riding with power)

Like most training periodisation pays dividends, sitting at a given form (despite being optimal) isn't sustainable forever :)
You're a TSS machine though! :D

I've tended to 'dabble' in form/fatigue/fitness with the Strava Premium 'Fitness & Freshness' chart, when I tried to understand and get into it further with TP I really struggled with the free account, I think you really need to sign up for a paid account to really get understanding using their platform which I wasn't prepared to do.

I've always been fairly lax about rest when my regular commuting, so much so I tend to ignore form and actually have it disabled on my F&F chart. I'm only interested in Fitness and Fatigue, through the majority of this year I was able to keep my fitness over 50, it's only now after baby arrival that my regular riding has been interrupted enough for my fitness to drop below. I've dropped as low as 46 since, the lowest since February.

Built this up at the weekend, quite a bit different from the usually black or matt carbon look bike.

Kinda a retro paint job with the tan wall tyres. Ridley Helium SLX.

Beautiful! The tanwalls always look superb on red/orange kinda frameset. I've been quite tempted by the Challenge Strada Bianca for my Diverge as they come in the sizes I want (30mm), unsure how they'd look on my hyper-gloss-green frame though.

What tubes are they and why so hard to get hold of? :o

I've always loved the look of the Canyons and the Endurace is definitely a great option. I'm starting to be drawn to the Mason https://masoncycles.cc/products/resolution-ultegra-hydro

Steel frame from a UK builder. Looks beautiful and comes with discs and clearance for full guards. Could be the 1 bike for many years option I am looking for, although a tad over budget so it would mean saving some more pennies over the next few months.

a mate of mine bought a mason. It's the longest he's ever had anything, and all his other bikes started disappearing not long after he bought it.

:o

I'd not be sure on the green and tanwall either to be fair.

This frameset is properly gloss red just my camera is crap!

Local strava mad made the paper on Sunday and was picked up by road.cc

Good price but pods! :(

The Resolution is an amazing bike, as is the Bokeh, but I think you probably need to ride steel to really appreciate and make the choice. Mason are very well regarded and being UK made with their fantastic service would never be a bad choice (also Hunt wheels!).

Yeah exactly. The Greenyyellow is such a bold modern colour I really don't know how the retro tan wall look will work. Will have a trawl through the Diverge owners group later to see.

Good on Ross to get some recognition but also good to have his say on the matter. Far too many people taking themselves far too seriously on Strava and Zwift etc these days!

I've not read the whole printed part but saw a photo showing most if it.

Loads of guys putting it down saying Strava is for certain sweary words and that it is worthless until he puts a number on his back.

I've saw him come from being a commuter with joggy bottoms on, getting a Kona road bike and sticking with joggy bottoms and trainers(still getting good KOMs then!) and finally embracing some lycra and SPD shoes. Still wears a cotton tshirt instead of a base layer and doesn't ride overshoes even in winter. Maybe one day he'll look quite the thing instead of a gringo.

Just natural ability, amazing he can ride like that while the rest of us working much harder to even get near his level! Jealous! I guess just one of those guys who missed 'the calling' (as if caught young enough could've made it as a pro). A bit of a shame really! :o

I think one of the comments somewhere actually mentioned pinning on a number and then someone shared that britishcycling link which goes to a race/event where he places quite highly showing its not 'fake'.

Thought I'd post a mini review of the new 'hybrid' I picked up at the weekend. It's a BMC Alpenchallenge AC02 Nexus which I've fitted full length mudguards and a rear rack to.

I basically wanted something that I could just pick up and jump aboard to go to the shops/pub/work on without having to get changed and preferably something that would need minimal maintenance. I toyed with the idea of building up a fixie, but I live in Yorkshire where hills are not exactly in short supply and I'd end up sweaty as hell every time I rode it. Ideally I would have liked something with a belt drive and hub gears, but in the end I settled on this 2107 model, that uses a chain and guard, as it was in the sale (£750, but I get 50% cash back through my life insurance). The frame is the same as the model further up the range that uses a belt drive, so the chain stay is able to be split if I want to fit a belt drive later.

You can't really tell from the picture, but it has quite aggressive geometry for something that's advertised as a hybrid. It's more of a flat bar road bike in my opinion and it handles beautifully. The range of gears on the 8 speed hub is pretty much spot on for what I want to do. On Sunday I had a gentle 25 mile ride along unsurfaced canal tow paths to the pub and kept up with my mate on his hardtail mountain bike with no issues. Then today I fitted some pannier bags and went to do one of my twice weekly shops which involved a fully laden slog up a hill that reaches 7% in places.

I'd fully recommend it to anyone looking to get a low maintenance, 'do everything' kind of bike, especially if you can pick one up in the sale!

That does look perfect for what you want to do! Marathon plus tyres and it would go anywhere.

Managed to get a photo of the paper, the guy who wrote it is a fellow cyclist but has put a bit too much of a slant on the clown side of things for me but that's journalists.

Christ, it's dead in here.

I rode in today. It was average. I have a clicking on my left vector, or might be my cleat in the pedal. Every. Damn. Rotation.

New shoes should *touchwood* be here soon anyway. Bike discount emailed back and said they're going to reattempt... hopefully they find the house this time!

Just paid for the Scott Addict frame, so it's on it's way too.

Anyone got recommendations for a nice looking stem/bars combo? Will get those bits and seat tube/ saddle first. Then it's only the cheap etap to worry about :p:eek:

Need more Roady to keep it going.

Try another pedal on the bike to rule out the pedal? Could well be the bottom bracket?

I've only been commuting and taking the long way home when the weather isn't completely crap.

Trying to keep the legs turning without going off riding the bike as I plan to keep it going into next year and then try build up to try a race or two.

Heading out soon for what I had planned 80 miles but may cut it shorter.

What's nice looking is subjective! What aesthetic are you going for?

Zipp combo looks good for aero build.

I quite like these low-profile style stems too...

Thanks @Shamrock I'm trying to find a stem/bar combined at the moment. Scott did an Addict SL that came with a nice integrated set, but it's like hens teeth to source it seems.

Ideally looking at c.350g for the combo. The idea behind the addict name is as light as possible, so reckon I can get it to sub 6kg just about :p

I thought that at first, as the Aeroad is getting a bit BB creaky, but I am sure I can feel it when it clicks and it's only from that foot. It feels like it's from my shoe when it clicks. I have a new set of cleats, I'll chuck those on the new shoes and should hopefully be fine. I hate riding when there is a noise though, starts to be the only thing you can hear.
