My test loop includes two different segments, one of which overlaps start/finish points inside the other. On a Garmin device, this doesn’t work. But on the ELEMNT you can actually see both segments live and switch between them and race them as you see fit. Simply tap that ‘SGMNT’ button in the lower left to swap between them, just like changing pages.

One interesting note is that unlike the Garmin Edge units, you can route on both a course and complete Live Segments at the same time, whereas for Garmin it’s one or the other, so that’s definitely pretty cool for those still upset about that on Garmin devices (a number of you). You can see here it’s giving me directions on the route I’ve loaded, while also showing me the Strava Segment info up top.

The singular downside however is that unlike Garmin, Wahoo doesn’t show people you follow (friends) on Strava as a competitor, whereas Garmin does. In my case, I don’t actually follow that many people on Strava, so it’s not a huge deal. But if you’ve got a close-knit group of riding buddies, then that’s definitely a Debbie-downer moment to not be able to seek out your friend’s PR. Though, Wahoo says this is coming soon.

Aw, recieved a KOM today for a segment I've been hunting down, however looks like my Garmin bugged out.

Would have needed a 27.5MPH average, but my max was 22MPH across it. (Wasn't going for it today).

How do you flag your own ride?

How do you flag your own ride?

Same way that you flag any other :)

Gents of the Surrey persuasion, working out of Horley tomorrow, and want to either ride somewhere in the North Downs or possibly do a loop of Boxhill, Leith Hill after work, just wondering if anyone had any routes created of anywhere between 30-45 miles they could suggest.

I've got this one I've ridden before, but wouldn't mind something different if people have suggestions, anything that'll be quiet and with a bit of scenery!

So my riding mates all chipped in and bought me a time trial frame as my wife wouldn't let me have one!

It's a P3C of 2009 vintage, a monster frame, 61cm, however I am riding a 58cm R5 with a 110mm stem which is pretty much slammed & i need to go longer still! Relying on their expert opinion here but they thought it would stretch me out nicely!

So I've gotta gather parts on the cheap to build it up. I already have a 100mm 3T stem, so chucked that on there.

I got some rotor cranks, rotor BB and SRAM chain rings as a bulk buy off Facebook for $135 posted. A force crankset & BB would have cost me $250 new at least so a good saving.

I don't want it to cost too much so I'm trying to make it a budget build.

I've ordered new a 3T Vola Pro base bar from CRC and some 105 pedals for $100 all up.

SRAM TT shifters in 11 speed just seemed a nightmare to get, Ribble only sold the rear shifter and everywhere else had 10 speed only or the R2C shifters which at $300+ wasn't happening. I've ordered the none R2C ones from the USA from Jenson for $145 including shipping. I could have got them from Germany or some Irish site, but the reviews were very bad so I didn't want to risk it!

The random TCR stickers on the fork have been removed, cleaned up with acetone and it's in good condition for its age for sure, minor chips but I'd say it's done less km than my R5.

Just incase I need some inspiration!

My plan to finish it is Full Rival 22 from Ribble (who are doing some amazing prices on SRAM) with Deda J bend clip ons. No idea about saddle yet, might try and borrow some from guys at the club and see what fits.

That route is fairly good.

Potentially add in Barhatch Lane over by Cranleigh: https://www.strava.com/segments/10191727

Maybe Crocknorth Rd if you can work it in too:

Also, you're going down Ranmore Common Road. It's quite a nice one to go up too!

So..The Gabba saga continues. Wiggle were out of stock despite claiming that they weren't. I questioned why they were so slow to send out my order and in response they cancelled it (due to the stock issues). Sigheth.

Ordered from ProBikeKit with their 10% off for new customers. Cost just over £120 so a little more expensive but they have the colour and size combo in stock that I want so I guess that works out okay.

Your ride would be starting from Horley? That's a bit further out than Great Bookham.

I agree that it'd be worth doing Barhatch Ln as that is probably the toughest climb in Surrey (yes it's nothing compared to "real" climbs before someone comments ).

You have some great mates :)

Yup I was very surprised, we only meet up all together a couple of times a year to race together.

Someone else had an old frame donated to them when their roadie cracked.

Got to keep paying it forward, karma and all that voodoo!

Arrrrrr Barhatch Lane you say... this one? https://www.strava.com/segments/662235. Toughest climb in Surrey. You southern guys get it so easy. You get all the Pokemon in London and all the easy climbs!

GP4000s tyres for about 3 years & averaged 1700-2000 miles before they were worn out. Averaged around 3-5 punctures as well.
Since moving to 4 Seasons I've not had one puncture & last set did 4,500 miles on the rear before I decided to change it & to be fair it wasn't really that worn. The front one has done 5,500 miles so far & is still in good condition.
Interesting, my last set of 4 Seasons only lasted 3,000 miles before the rear gave out. I also had 8-10 punctures in that time.
GP 4Seasons I ran June 2015 to April 2016, ~2500 miles. Commuting all weathers on pretty poor roads & leisure riding on some very bad roads at time. Rear was toasted, front fine for another 2500 I'd say. 5-6 punctures, most from debris or pot hole strikes, only 1 I couldn't explain.
GP4000Sii's are 1500 miles in, 2 punctures, 1 was a thorn and the other I think was a stone strike/pothole after riding over a very rough stretch of road. Plenty of tread left and haven't 'split' like the GP4S rear did...

Last Pro4 Endurance I had only lasted 300 miles before getting a sidewall cut. I've kept the other as a spare.
So my riding mates all chipped in and bought me a time trial frame as my wife wouldn't let me have one!
Awesome, even means they're in the doghouse as much as you are! ;):D:rolleyes:

EDIT: New house sorted, move day tomorrow! Have got so much outside space and garage is so big I'm tempted to even put the car in & then figure out the bike space afterwards...! :D :o

Rear garage door is nothing special, will be changing the locks and putting a beefy padlock on it too as it's not behind a lockable fence. Quite tempted by some ground anchors as well as the usual wall mountings. House is going to need some filler and a repaint throughout but that's all easy cosmetic things. Of course knowing my other half she'll want it done yesterday so my 'Man Task List' won't be empty for a few years...

With regards to training tyres.

I've given Michelin a go and I'm not sure they are worth double the price of a Vittoria Rubino Pro. The new G+ range seems to have better grip in the wet to me. Downside is they are heavy.

Which Michelin? The new range of Pro4s sound a bit rubbish - I'm sticking with the V2s for as long as possible.
