Road Cycling

And... what @Shamrock didn't mention is he took this photo just after beating the time I set a few days before up the Valley of the Tears :D Cracking effort on a brutal climb!

Keep pushing, bit more effort and you can beat GVA! :D

WTF @ Dowsetts time, is he really *that* heavy lol

Um... I'm only 4kg lighter than Dowsett and I probably had a heavier bike :p

I was just glad to get over the climb to be honest. Really tough!

Yeah looks it... Maybe I'll revisit sometime! I remember the roads being fantastic but I didn't cycle when last there! :)

It certainly chose its moment to go. Just raced the WBR 10km on Zwift, and managed to come out top in Cat B despite usually hanging out in the middle/back on the longer races. Turns out one of the rules is "Category winners must wear a HRM" and so I'm not classified in the final results :( Only two places behind Ed Bradbury on the unfiltered results, though :D
Great result and effort, shame about the HRM. I don't see you even DQ in the results now though?

Also don't see it on Eds ride feed, Zwift burp I guess as that's how his name is displayed.

Come do mine? Snow shovels are incredible! Cleared half my drive, garage and car in around an hour at lunchtime yesterday.

Neighbour yesterday trying to move an Audi TT in heavy snow. She managed a total of ~8 feet. Numpty!

Yep, one of those very rarely used tools but invaluable when needed. Sods law I cleared another path off to the left for which a load of snow slid off the roof and buried about an hour later

Lulz, reminds me of the video of the bint who's 1 series is stuck in the snow, an auto, gets out with it left in drive, tries to remove snow from the front (yes front) wheels. Eventually gains traction and the car then drives itself in to the house recording her....

VoTT is probably the worst road on the island. And the steepest. It's a really rough surface... worse than a lot we get in the UK. If it was smooth I reckon it would be 5x easier!

Two orders from wiggle this year and neither have managed to deliver next day when I have paid for it.

Sure it snowed in some areas of the country but I managed to go to work & so did my wife:

Either don’t offer next day.

Spread your distribution out so it won’t all be affected if the area it’s in snows.

Get in touch with me and let me know it won’t be arriving.

Sort your **** out.

I’d have bought in person if Merlin stocked the item.

Haha what an idiot, but then it isnt really suprising. When BMW did a survey with the owners of the 1 series 80% didnt even know which were the driven wheels and thought they were FWD

I'm sure 80% of all drivers don't know which wheels are driven on their cars, how to operate fog lights or stay in lane on a roundabout :D and ofc, give cyclists adequate room when passing ;)

Ask for the difference back and move on :) All retailers have obliged to refund me when I've paid for premium delivery service and not received goods in the time frame specified.

Wiggle, in my experience, have always been very good. Sounds like the first instance probably wasn't excusable but the second is probably a failure to manage expectations given our typical british response to inclement weather...

Turbo last night was interesting. Unsure how long I was going to stay in my freezing garage so rather than racing I did some hill reps with efforts. Once ice started to form on my phone infront of me (mounted on bars) I called it. -2 when I finished! Quickest 'cool down' ever! :o

Pretty poor but then again the midlands was quite badly hit (their new Warehouse is in Wolverhampton) compared to further north & south. Bristol, Cardiff & even Abergavenny (only ~25 miles away) largely remained clear of snow sunday/monday.

We saw -14 in some areas around here last night. With the 10+ inches of snow we've had, the melt from a couple of hours of sunshine yesterday has made things freeze solid overnight. Roads which where clear (salted & gritted yesterday) froze overnight and there's cars abandoned everywhere. Temperatures not due to go higher than -2 today so really depends if the sunshine melts any of it. My work has pretty much ground to a halt (wholesale horticulture) as we either can't get to fields to dig trees up, can't find the plants on our container ground under the snow and most of the sites we'd be delivering to this time of year (housing developments, landscapes, parks and local authorities) are closed or inaccessible. But at least we had power overnight, unlike last night! :o

Haha I bet my sister doesn't. Wait. Let me look at that video again... :o ;)

Kinda kicking myself here... I'd originally booked this wednesday off work to use up holiday, then with all the snow because I'm not coming in tomorrow I made good efforts to get to work yesterday & today. Around 50-60% of staff didn't and they either stayed home due to being 'snowed in' or knew they couldn't do any work when actually here...

TLDR; wtf did I bother coming in to work, I could've done a 2 day week with only using 1 days holiday & caught up with a load of house jobs & Zwifting. NUMPTY! :o :(

Argh I hate Canyons ordering system.

Went to order this: https://www.canyon.com/en-gb/road/endurace/2018/endurace-cf-slx-disc-8-0.html

But it's sold out for large and apparently not coming in (why is it sold out when they are made to order anyway?), fair enough...so I'm looking at this instead:

https://www.canyon.com/en-gb/road/endurace/endurace-cf-sl-disc-8-0-aero.html

As I can get that from stock as opposed to waiting, although I didn't mind waiting given I wouldn't really need it until spring, but why do they have such ghastly colour schemes on some bikes and the really nice ones on bikes that aren't even available?! Same as Trek, all the good paint jobs are on bikes that are either £10k or the dirt cheap ones. Why can't they just be like cars where they have set colours/paint schemes, and you pick a bike then a colour scheme? :p

And then comparing the models is a nightmare as well, taken weeks for me to decide on those two, CF SLX, CF SL, CF, AL and then between them they have their own variants, you have to really look at the stats to see any difference

But rant aside, I'm looking forward to getting that bike. The reviews I've read really rate the endurance setup.

That's my Christmas present to myself sorted :p

I wanted one in red! Hence the first model, but they only do red in very few models, either the £5k+ ones or the cheaper ones, the one I linked was a rare find. The one I've ordered in is ok in stealth though, I think I need to let go of my red bike dreams. I'll just carry on perving over @BennyC's bike when I see him
