Road Cycling

Josh Hunt from One Pro passed us just before them too.

Another Orica (now Mitchelton!) rider (maybe Roman Kreuziger as he appears to be out there too) passed us the day after in the drops, out the saddle, low cadence up hill.

if you heard the Guardian 'journalist' Sean Ingle on the R4 today this morning, fairly inarticulate,
the Guardian were annnoyed their 'exclusive' had been spoiled by Sky announcement, and during interview had already hung, drawn, quartered, stripped, Froome.

I get a little bit of Exercise Induced Asthma, particularly in the cold. Maybe I 'require' some of this stuff too!
It's ventolin, it's a substance so boring you can get it on prescription with no effort whatsoever and which doesn't even require a TUE, provided you stay below a certain threshold. Somehow he's managed to breach that threshold, so now we'll have the usual song and dance about metabolisms and excretion and how the sun hit the Spanish mountains just right that one day and he was so awestruck by the beauty of the landscape that his body temporarily shut down and as a result he ended up with a higher level of it in his bloodstream than if he'd been looking at some concrete in the rain in Dudley.

We've all had those days where your asthma is bad so you accidentally have 38 too many puffs on your inhaler. :o

Comments on road.cc refer to taking it in tablet form, which is apparently a whole different affair. Apparently it can aid weight loss or serve to mask other more problematic substances...

It'd have to be in tablet form because I defy anyone to take more than two puffs of salbutamol and not want to instantly hurl.

I take salbutamol and can't say it's ever made me feel sick!

What actually happens is my coughing attacks prevent me from actually keeping it in my lungs long enough to soothe them.

It definitely doesn't have any performance enhancing effects when I use it.:p

^ I always found inhalers to be a bit contradictory (having used one in my teens).

Struggling to breathe but now you need to hold your breath. Wot. :D

You're right - its Terbutaline I'm referring to.

I have a brown one and a blue one - the blue one is Terbutaline and makes me heave if I ever need two puffs (hardly ever use it - perhaps if ive mowed the lawn without taking hayfever tablet).

The brown one salbutomol you could easily OD on - i have no reaction to a dose of that.

Performance enhancing - im not sure how much you'd need to get yourself into a place where you're starting to make gains. People more clued up than us have clearly done their homework and determined where the red line is.
